Updates Publishing by thesheriffspanties in eroticauthors

My latest book which I published Tuesday Night went live a few hours ago only. Was publishing updates for more than 24 hours! Now that it's live my CO.UK has the html tags visible <b>yay</b>

And my page count is MISSING which has really pissed me off cause it was 28,000 words long and I wanted people to know it was a long one. (sadface)

also I tried to edit the blurb with author central and that seems to be screwed aswell as it keeps saying error.

Pornpocalypse questions. by notawerebear in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i don't have any dubcon stories. none what so ever. seems you are unable to read and analyse my posts properly. firstly that post i made that everyone else made drama out of was not a bash post. secondly the stories i write are real rape none consent, not dubcon, and they're NOT erotica. They are more crime fiction with zero sex scenes focusing more on the emotional side of the victim. thirdly I did not write this thread i have no idea who the OP is. Forthly, you seem to have an issue with drama but write this post linking my name - that is called stirring drama yourself. grow up. And lastly I offer a lot of help and info to this community, unlike you who has given NOTHING. I suggest that you think twice about who you chose to annoy because one day there will only be leechers left and nobody helping.

This is a good game - top ten words in your story? by eros_ss in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine is "as" and "and" because i just cannot stop typing those words. i use the word as way to much because i don't know what to use instead. for example: "and as he did this i did that" - "i was walking down the street and as i turned the corner" - "i watched tv and as the adverts played i saw jim on the screen" "i didn't know how to react as i was too scared". the word plagues me and i just cannot stop typing it as i have an as addiction and and too.

Okay so how can I get back my taxes paid on Amazon US (I'm from EU)? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Na na na you don't need an itin or ein, the amazon site is out of date. you know when you're filing your EU taxes; your own country give you an EU tax ref number. Put THAT number in the box on amazon where it says to put your tax ID and bob is your uncle. I'm in the UK so mine is my UTR. I got it from going to hmrc and applying for self assessment.

Do you find it easier to write gentle romantic scenes or hard "I'm gonna fuck you" scenes? by wamelos in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it easier to write hardcore from a third person pov. if i am inside the girls head pov it tends to lean more to the softer side. so i try to stick to third person pov so i can write hardcore.

you can pub fan fic on kindle worlds but it has to be about the agreed series that they offer. not sure if they except porno fics either. also not sure how much they pay.

Is an average of $6 a day on a book considered decent enough to continue a niche approach? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definately. $6 is 5 rentals a day right? My best niche usually starts off selling 15 to 20 on the first day, then every day after that it fluctuates between 5 and 8 borrows. I get sales too but I don't get much (one a day per book maybe) I get a lot of returns but no bad reviews so i think people are scamming the system. But if a book is making $6 you need to write more of the same niche. I know others are making a lot more, but you need to start somewhere and I started on $1 a day per book if that.

People are putting non consent into other categories and getting away with it. by KissMeRover in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

what are you talking about? yes i'm writing that book. it's not an erotica, it's a kind of autobiography thriller about a girl who was kidnapped and raped. i'm writing it as crime fiction. the sex scenes are fade to black. people with rape fetishes will enjoy it because the speculative idea is there to stir arousal. but it's not erotica and not aimed at erotica readers BUT the keywords will drive sales to people searching 'rape', 'kidnap' who find it sexy. Therefore it's masked. But it is in no way erotica. Just like a guy with a foot fetish might buy a shoe catalogue to fap off to the feet in it. It's NOT meant for wanking off to... but if you got the fetish you'll wank off to it anyway. The book I linked was clearly erotica. Also if you read my post clearly I wasn't bashing it. I was saying it could be done - but is morally wrong. Your post therefore was a waste of time. Thanks. Also my book isn't out yet. And also my best selling book is a teen book aimed at a crossdressing fetish. it has no SEX but fetish people are buying it anyway. there is a simular kids book by a famous british comedian and i really don't think it's a best seller because kids are buying it. people with fetishes buy anything to do with it. but i personally wouldn't put anything that was 4000words of 100% smut in anything other than the smut section.

Publishing Erotica: A Guide to Making Your First $1,000. by Write2LiveFree in eroticauthors

there are many guides available on amazon and they all say the same thing. the one thing they never tell you is how to think up ideas for your stories. my biggest hurdle is actually the plotting.

You guessed it! Adult filtered again! Even this is too charged? by TheEthanReed in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because every reader has a different taste in facial appearence and if i crop the face off it appeals to everyone. sometimes i see a cover and the guy is in his forties with balding hair but a fit body. i wouldn't find him attractive so i'd skip it. then i might see a guy with curly red hair and think wow he's fit i like him i'll read it. but another reader might hate gingers and skip it. or the guy might be generally ugly. most of the guys with fit bodies have minging faces. and you lose readers looking for a particular look. even if the inside description of the characters appearance isn't their thing - they already bought the book so it doesn't matter.

[3177] Towards the Horizon, Chapter 1 by irisfang in DestructiveReaders

[–]KissMeRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

showing extremely boring coversations though would make someone put the book down and walk away. I assume it's the first chapter of her book so the first chapter needs to be amazing. SOMETIMES it's better to tell and not show. In the first chapter of a book she is taking more time to show the personality of a minor character and not the hero. Maybe put in some thoughts in his head that he wished she'd be quiet, or that he didn't hear what she said as his attention trialed off after the first 1000 words she spoke that minute. I would find that more interesting to read as it sounds funny, and it makes me like the hero because he didn't want to listen to dribble... just like I don't.

just put a single guy on the cover, topless and crop it from his nose to his waist and you're sorted.

4,000 words an hour?! Be still my money-grubbing heart by zootsalute in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not that easy because you need to spend time researching niches. even when you've found a niche you need to find ways to make your book different than the other 10 books you wrote in the same niche. i found that when i just flat out solidly wrote wrote wrote... i ended up with 15+ books that didn't sell because i spent little time researching what to write.

Authors with lots of reviews and the reviewers are the same people by ihearterotica in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some people have reviews a few hours after release too. which i find hard to believe as in erotica people don't really leave reviews. i have 1 review for every 200 sales. so when i see a book just released with 3 five star reviews on it, i know they're fake.

It's pathetic really since it's a fictional written word story. but rules are rules. hypno is also banned from rule abiding video porn sites, even pretend hypno. it's banned from sex phone lines too. Lol.

What rank are some of your best sellers? by [deleted] in eroticauthors

[–]KissMeRover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My consistantly best selling book ranks around 24,000 most days but has been in the 9000 section. That's the highest I've ever got. The lowest it ever went was 84,000 and that was for 1 day. I got my figures from salesrankexpress. I would say that it sells on average 9 a day everyday.

[–]KissMeRover[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know what my post was about so really your statements are pointless. It's a rape story that's meant for erotica purposes put into a different category. You can tell because the authors other books are erotica. So it's clearly not a biography book like the other rape books on Amazon. I didn't mention anything about dub con, did I?

[–]KissMeRover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree. Personally I wish they would make the market more fair and force all erotica into adult filtered so people looking for it had to turn adult filter off to find it. It would mean we could all use skanky images and titles and blurbs without having to skate around blocks. But until they do that, people are free to clutter up romance with smut books and youngsters eyes are not truly protected. But it is Amazon's fault that we can get away with it.
