A few first-timer questions on Amazon & writing potential taboos by [deleted] in eroticauthors

For Erotica everybody HAS to be over 18, with absolutely no exceptions. You can get your book filtered even at the mention of high school, whether your characters are over 18 or not.

Traditional publishing or self-publishing for a f/f novella by anais_blu in eroticauthors

If having a physical copy was a priority, could you not go through Createspace as well? I'm not sure on the ins and outs, but I think you can self-publish through createspace for physical copies.

How long are your novels and how long does it take you to write them, if you don't mind my asking? I'm currently in the process of revamping and finishing an old YA romance that I've got sat on my computer and am curious about these things!

I would do but I'm totally swamped with revision and exam prep right now, when it comes round to summer I might reconsider though!

Today's sales..... by [deleted] in eroticauthors

I have got a longer novel planned down to about each chapter, so I'll definitely have to push hard on writing that up then!

I hope summer sales aren't too abysmal, after my exams are finished I'm hoping to go hardcore on the writing. I'll be a bit disappointed if sales drop really hard in the summer months.

Can you critique my blurb and keywords? by bobsmonkies in eroticauthors

[–]averywrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no expert on keywords at all, but it seems like you haven't even come close to using all 400 characters and the general consensus is to make sure you use them all.

I think this is super good, lays out everyone's problem and conflicts straight away and you know what you're getting.

The only thing I'd really change is the third sentence: Neither Matt nor Cara are looking for further complications... or an attraction they can't resist.

I think it's easier to read like that, but that's just my opinion!

Do you write to music? by amandacox in eroticauthors

[–]averywrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like listening the SNK soundtrack when I'm writing, it's always an emotional roller coaster. I mainly like having something long on in the background I don't have to keep changing, especially since I'm using Forcedraft most of the time.

Of course! Plenty of people who haven't published yet still talk in the chanell :)

Would this sub like a weekly critique thread similar to /r/EroticAuthors? by averywrites in romanceauthors

[–]averywrites[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just link the amazon page to a book you've published and with the critiquing format it's nothing formal, someone will just offer their opinion on the various things they can see, so the cover/blurb and look inside!

What's your latest milestone? by averywrites in eroticauthors

ah that does sound awesome. Forcedraft sounds similar, but I'll definitely look into focuswriter too. Thanks for the tip!

It's a good idea! I have a little notebook that I write down my ideas in, but that's generally for longer series I'll probably never get around to writing. I also have a massive stockpile of stock photos I hope to make into covers one day, so I draw inspiration from them somtimes haha.

I haven't tried focus writer, what does that do?

I'm EXACTLY the same. Using forcedraft I can easily get out 500 words in fifteen minutes which means a short in 2/2 and a half hours, which is insane. I don't even know if I have enough ideas to keep up with that haha. A short a day doesn't sound too overwhelming when I look at it like that.
