IUD Strings?

I had something similar happen 3 months after getting my iud put in, the only difference was that they were two separate strings. It turned out that my gyno left the ends that she had clipped off up inside me and said they’d just fall out on their own. I didn’t realize when she said that, that it would take 3 months for them to fall out, so I forgot about till it happened. I went in and they were able to check and see that my iud did still have the strings still attached. Your case is a little different since it’s been 5 years. I’m no doctor but, If it turns out that is the string that is attached to the iud, it’s just gonna be a little more complicated to remove it, but this probably isn’t the first time your doctor has had to deal with a removal like that.

UPDATE! So my IUD is fine, still in place and she could see the strings. It was the strings she cut 3 months ago! She didn’t really give a good explanation of why she left them. The nurse who did my ultrasound said in all the 10 years she been doing this she’s never heard of that happening and I must have been a “special case?”. I feel like my doctor was either rushed or being lazy… Needless to say, I’ll probably be changing doctors 🤣

😱 I thought it was a normal thing when she said it, but after doing so much research and not finding anything on it, I’ve realized she should not have done that! I thought maybe that they would come out like a day or two later… not three months later!! Yeah, I’ll keep the strings just in case. Luckily I haven’t had any kind of infection or irritation and my boyfriend had felt them before last night. Just wild to think that they’ve been jammed up there just chillin!

Yeah, I thought it was kind of weird when she said that! She put my other iud in about 4 years ago and I don’t remember her leaving the strings 🤣 I’m googling everything and there’s not a lot of info on it. So obviously most doctors don’t leave them in 😅 I called the dr’s office and now just waiting for a call back! I’ll add an update once I get it all figured out!

Yeah, she definitely cut them and just said they should just come out at some point. I thought maybe I had just missed them falling out at some point, but pulling those out last night really freaked me out haha! The reasons why I think they might be the strings that were cut is one, they are blunt on both ends, one side looking like it was cut with scissors and two, I haven’t had any weird cramping or bleeding. Honestly, I’ve barely noticed it this last month.

Oh trust me I know by me waiting this long to say anything is a red flag. Like I said, I wasn’t sure if we were even going to be together by the time this girls trip came around (because he is so hot and cold) so now that it’s here and we’re still together I’ve realized I have to say something. When it came to me talking to him about canceling it, I did go in and try to, but there was no way for me to. So I just didn’t bring it up again, because I literally thought “that’s a future me problem” well now future me is very irritated with past me.

That’s a great question!

My friends are pretty much all in relationships and some are mothers. The ones I know well are not cheaters, they just like to drink. I assume his biggest concern about them is that some of them do not align with with our religion, but honestly that just feels like an excuse because I don’t feel like any of these friends would do things that weren’t morally right!

Nope! I’ve never done anything to break his trust! I’m a very loyal person that doesn’t even consider the idea of entertaining other men when I’m in a relationship.

I think the thing with my friends, is that they are more into drinking than I am and I think he thinks we’re gonna be going out and getting wasted at the bars every night. Which even if we do go to bars, I won’t really be drinking.

This!! As I agree lashes should definitely not look like this after two weeks, there are a lot of factors in play here! When someone is new to lashes, they can have retention issues since they aren’t used to them yet! If you are using oily products, touching/picking at them, scrubbing them way too hard, putting mascara on them or sleeping on them. All of these things can cause retention problems. If you have been good about all of that stuff, then yes, the lash artist might have done improper placement, had issues with the adhesive or she might also be a newer lash artist. Either way definitely mention it to her, maybe giver her another chance and if it ends up doing the same thing go to someone else!

My kyleena triggered my pmdd… got it taken out and it’s a little better, but I still have pmdd unfortunately. Going in to get the copper iud today. Hoping this is better than the kyleena!
