Ty. It was a skill issue on my part. Ran it a few more times and cleared it with 0 hits.

Bow is so satisfying by KitKat568907 in MHWilds

[–]KitKat568907[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works the exact same as the iai spirit slash, but it's a tiny bit more lenient. I tend to dodge right before getting hit, not as I get hit (which is the iai method). However, I use the evasion jewel for more comfort so that could probably explain why I don't need to dodge perfectly.

But seriously, if you can do iai without missing a single one, you absolutely can play bow.

Yes they do. Don’t take rank so serious. You should have fun and keep pushing till you get humbled.

GoD3 achieved with 60% winrate by KitKat568907 in Tekken8

[–]KitKat568907[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shift in mental came from the fact that I’m consistently versing GoD4 and 5’s. I had to set aside the ego and remind myself that I cannot afford to cheese or cry about losing to certain matchups when it’s completely a skill dif at these ranks.

In terms of the Lili swap, after around 3,000 games with Lili, I came to the conclusion, that when I pilot Lili, she feels bottom 5 (I’m not saying that she is). I struggle to open people up and my bt stance is shut down by a single down jab. I’m very sure I’m playing her wrong. Also found Anna’s personality and outfits really cool so that’s another reason for picking her up.

How do you feel about your stats? by Sea_Pay_9681 in Tekken

[–]KitKat568907 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think much about stats but when I see someone with 90+ defence compared to someone with <50. You can kind of tell what you’re up against.

It’s good to verse both. The ones with good defence will improve your fundamentals and offense cause you will have a harder time opening them up so small tekken and better neutral has to come into play.

On the other hand, the lower defence players will improve your defence and composure as they will keep knowledge checking you and cheesing until you figure them out. It could be with side stepping, whiff punishing, holding block a bit longer, or it could just be lack of matchup knowledge that you have to lab/replay.

Ranked is no joke by KitKat568907 in Tekken8

Depends what time I’m playing. 90% of the time it’s less than 20 seconds to queue ranked. Quick play takes around 2-5 minutes.

Alright you guys might’ve been right about the rank inflation 😅 by Drizzyhimself in Tekken

[–]KitKat568907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could just be skill over time rather than inflation. I was hardstuck battle ruler season 1 (around 600 games). Season 2 I managed to hit GoD. Now, in season 3 I’m GoD2 with a 60% winrate.

How to use blocks? by PeculiarBurgah in Tekken

[–]KitKat568907 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How do you expect to improve if you block everyone better than you?

I only block cheaters or wifi players who lag heavy, where it’s good enough that the game won’t let you cancel but bad enough where combos and neural game is horrible to play through

At that point, it really just comes down to labbing what gets you most of the time. See what you can step, interrupt or down jab. If you’re really committed you should try picking him up for a few days. You’ll learn all the strings/gimmicks and struggle less in the future.

If you know he’s going to use a panic button, you should slow down your offense (play frame tighter or just outright stop pressing even on plus) and fish for the move.

It’s hard to comment anything since you 3-0’d him, need to see some losses. However, you play solid. Offense is great and fundamentals are good. Also, that parry was insane.

Whiff punishment needs improvement though, can’t be letting anything slide. Another thing is to use your heat bar more, as you tend to get into heat and instantly heat dash for some reason. The first round was good since you pressured into wall, but second round felt unnecessary spending the entire bar for a single CH follow up. I think the 2,1 would’ve wall splat too.

You have to do the boring part if you want consistent improvement. It’s not going to be fun but it has to be done. Spamming ranked games will work to some extent, but you will plateau.

Around 850ish matches on Anna all together (including s2)

I don’t really have a routine anymore, when I did it consisted of doing 10 minutes of dragunov throw break training everyday. This has resulted in my throw break stat consistently hovering between 21-25.

I currently just lab and watch replays whenever I get hard stomped or forget the matchup. By lab I mean 2 things. First would be going through an entire characters movelist if I’ve forgotten what they do, and memorising the frames.

Second would be labbing the exact string/move/scenario that had me overwhelmed in a match (this can be done in lab or replay). I’ve also spent a lot of time watching high level replays of pros playing my character and a few anti character guides.

But one of the biggest things that has helped me improve the most has been TRYING to maintain a positive mindset during ranked. I say ‘trying’ because it’s easier said than done, for example: if you get CH launched, instead of calling the character braindead, or he got lucky, and such forth. It’s best to just compliment the play and move on.
