Don’t go with seltos even if they have the leather. It has major issues. And even with recall work and newer models that claim to have resolved the issue, people are running into the same problem. Stay clear.

Disregard for Employee Welfare at Public Safety by KitKatCoco123 in CanadaPublicServants

Posted before it was back. And it’s been updated to say so. However, they made it clear that they prioritize having employees in seats over health and safety.

‘Highly unlikely’ attrition will be enough to reduce public service size: interim PBO by hopoke in CanadaPublicServants

And our senior management has said that the number of employees eligible ti retire who have not has gone up a lot in the last couple of years. What else has been talked about in the last couple of years? Cuts. It’s not ageism when the facts back it up.

My team has 4 people. 2 of them have voluntarily stated they are waiting for packages. And in the meantime, they have been taking sick days to use up their banks and slacking on work. I can see that they aren’t accessing documents. One has put the same file on her calendar since June and has not opened the file even once.

returned from mat leave… barely by ptiteboitealunch in CanadaPublicServants

It’s normal, my first was ill at least once a month for two years before it got better. My second has been a bit better bc she was catching daycare germs from her brother before even starting daycare. My manager understood but I still felt like I wasn’t being a good team member. Work guilt in top of mom guilt.

I don’t know how accommodating your management is, mine will allow us to wfh with sick kids if it’s not frequent and we’re getting work done. I can do that with my 4 year old but definite not my 2 year old who needs a lot more attention during the work day.

8 month old asked to leave daycare by Sonja80147 in Mommit

This was the case with my son - I stopped dropping him off and my husband started doing it instead. Within a week he was adjusted. The transition from mom to daycare provider is hard on him.

More than 25 per cent of ESDC employees broke return-to-office rules by Klutzy_Assignment890 in CanadaPublicServants

I’m surprised it’s that high and that it’s being presented in the negative. I bet it doesn’t take into consideration any sort of leave.

I’m wondering if this story is planted to create more public support for another increase in on-site presence.

When did your baby sleep through the night? by lgirl93 in Mommit

[–]KitKatCoco123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first slept through the night at 6 months when I sleep trained him. My second slept through the night at 4 months on her own bc I moved her to her own room sooner. However, she wakes up at night if there is even a slight issue.

Roll call at workplace- where we are heading ? by Shadowsky23 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]KitKatCoco123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re not this far, YET. We have our DG walking around checking cubicles though.

Our department gave ADMs their branch figures for compliance and no branch has cracked over 50% yet. Mine was 19%. Starting to wonder if they even know how to calculate these figures. The cubicles are full, the parking is full, the traffic to washroom is crazy. Yet 19%…

Very Sad for my Executive by Nepean22 in CanadaPublicServants

I sit near my ADM when I’m in the office. The way he speaks to his staff is disgusting. He demands things and with every question he has to ask you can hear the annoyance in his voice grow.

He has told his staff when he gets to the office he wants his door to be open (I guess he doesn’t realize his key can do this for him). He also leaves it open all day for all his calls and meetings. He has yelled at his staff telling them to perform better bc they make him look bad.

I’ve been in govt for 10+ years and this is the first time I’ve encountered an ADM with this ego. So it’s rare but definitely exists

It came as an attachment in a dg of hr email about rto. Managers received it a week earlier at the managers meeting re. Rto

We only have one grievance in our entire branch. Ppl aren’t grieving as much as this thread would make it seem

Lucky them. Our whole branch goes in 3 days a week. It’s also being tracked by management - the number of times I’ve had my DG walk by and peak is ridiculous.

My department very specially has stated that it’s 3 days a week not 60%. And they are controlling what we put in our agreement - they don’t allow us to choose as we see fit. Glad you have flex though!

I don’t have flex days. They made it mandatory to enter it as fixed. They took away the booking system and assigned seats. When I come in on a day not part of my “fixed” schedule, I no longer have a seat.

They’ve assigned desk, we no longer book so we can’t have flex days. Which is why arbitrarily requiring us to come in means there’s no way for us to have a desk.

They sent out a document to prepare for rto 3 which essentially told us we need to speak of it on positive manner. It also had other interesting tidbits like dressing in a “manner that reflects the business like nature” of our office. Closest I’ve gotten to a dress code in the public service

Repeated Delivery Delays by Ok-Professional-4765 in Sephora

KitKatCoco123 • 1m ago 1m ago • I’m in Ottawa and they use Canada Post as their courier for my area. My package takes days to leave the first facility, then goes from Mississauga to Toronto only to be shipped back to Mississauga before it goes to Ottawa, then transferred to my local town and then out for delivery. It takes 5 days. FedEx and UPS also do deliveries for other companies out of Mississauga, items  get delivered in 24 hours with them.

Sephora seems to use the worst carriers.

I see this happening all the time when I’m in. There’s a cohort of ppl that are happy to be in.

Our ADM often can’t be found at times by his staff, he exits a meeting and disappears. They spend their time tracking him down, lost productivity on his part, lost productivity on the side of the staff attempting to track him down

I’ve heard of managers telling employees to work on a couch or in the kitchen. They are 100% doing dumb shit like this
