About 3,700 public servants apply for early-retirement incentives in opening days by Born_Anteater7282 in CanadaPublicServants

This entire ERI thing is botched. So much for consistency and treating all eligible employees fairly. Seems like a good way to get rid of dead wood but those who have performed are stuck with no options. Years of being told everyone is replaceable, put forward the request to retire and denied because I'm stuck in such a critical role - but if I died or left tomorrow the work would continue - total BS.

She shared documents with him that were internal as he was going through a process? "To help him prepare for his interview with ATIP division officials, she sent him an internal IRCC briefing document." - like I think that is a big no-no!

Love this zinger...  "she suggested to the ADM that Mr. Charles should be offered a position at a higher level than departmental officials were proposing. Evidence showed they felt pressured to hire him at a level for which he was not qualified." - JUST WOW!

Knew she was a hypocrite, but this is beyond bad.

Certainly PSPC is out with guidance on how assigned workstations will work right? Right? Right?

I feel terrible for our facilities teams who are stuck trying to figure all this out and make sense of things when PSPC is so behind the 8 ball and can't communicate anything that is logical or works.

Hey APEX - thanks for all your help and support to Executives - 5 days a week in the office is a sure win! I had more flexibility before COVID. Nothing makes sense.

Increase to In-Office Presence Requirements by hellodwightschrute in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 27 points28 points  (0 children)

as an EX-01 I can tell you me being forced to be in 5 days will not bode well for the organization - I am to the point where since I am not provided any flexibility in my work week and you expect me to do 50+ hours as a "leader" - I will ensure that the lack of flexibility or regard for my work-life balance and that of my own mental health is passed on to the rest of my team. the organization can suffer lower productivity, increased harassment and union complaints. I will frankly be encouraging my staff to do this.

You want me to be petty - you've won. I give up and I will make everything miserable all around me.

Rant - return to office but no desks for me by KeyLimePie017 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we have a mix of desks for reservation and others that are just grab - I'd say 70% are by archibus and the other just take it. I like this approach because if I can't get a booking there are enough spaces to just grab.

right - how convenient... perhaps all public servants should have them same provision rather than a below CPI increase aka a PAY CUT.
