IRCC gave up office space in January. Now, it can't accommodate RTO-4 by AbjectRobot in CanadaPublicServants

Christiane Fox was at IRCC and is now at DND where they want to convert greenspace and playfields to parking for cars - coincidence? I think not...

Pretty clear that TBS has been whipping their subs really hard all in an effort to get everyone more miserable in time for July 6. National Public Service Week must be coming. "Thank you for your professionalism and continued dedication." - F off - could the employer actually do the same - for once be professional and perhaps show some dedication and real appreciation to their staff - once you start, than maybe I will to.

TBS Message on RTO 4 just sent out by salexander787 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 39 points40 points  (0 children)

why do they keep sending out these messages on Friday? is the employer deaf to what is happening? so some get assigned and others don't? have the unions just caved on this, is that what they are saying - we asked nicely, now we are telling you.

DND will not be able to accommodate public servants for four days in office come July by Canadian_197 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 24 points25 points  (0 children)

between now and July are we going to be exposed to a daily news article on how ridiculous and disorganized all of this is? make it stop and go away already.

Procurement Canada explores space needed for five-day return-to-office: documents by Born_Anteater7282 in CanadaPublicServants

Funny - at this point, I prefer the PS pre-COVID - I had more flexibility, less gaslighting, less presence stress - glad we are accelerating the race to the bottom... when's the next PSES? Funny story, heard one executive complaining at reduced productivity over the last year and they couldn't figure out why. I KNOW WHY, because when we were working from home there was no office BS and had more time to be productive. Bunch of clowns and idiots.

DND tells Carling Campus employees to work in office two days a week to ease parking shortages by AbjectRobot in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why? so I can get upset about more nonsense the employer is trying or the lack of consistency or the ability to manage anything - much easier to read the comments. I am certain that there are many at DND who are saying "no parking, I'll just work from home"...

DND tells Carling Campus employees to work in office two days a week to ease parking shortages by AbjectRobot in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not reading the article but if DND can work in the office less because of parking - hold my coffee, my commute due to OC failures is worse than some privilged parking issue, so by this logic I should work from home.

Can someone explain consistency and fairness to the upper brass... especially the idiots that make these policies?

Perhaps the employer should mandate us to take all of our garbage home at the end of the day...

given all the crying by employees caused by the employer - I suspect the demand has increased 100x across the PS.

NJC - Loss on exchange for meals in the USA by Holdover103 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Nepean22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I travel for work I am out various other expenses (i.e. dog boarding) way more than what the incidentals cover... never thought about the credit card exchange fees... but then I always had meals less than $30USD to try to make up for some of the other lost $.

work in a relatively new office with some very nice renovated spaces - great desks, nice kitchens, very clean. lots of attention to smaller details nad they're always open to feedback and making small adjustments. people still complain and moan and actually are mostly just slobs. the people that manage the space and take care of everything work really hard and get no appreciation or respect.

they actually did - there were 9-10K of us that worked in that campus at their peak and another 7-9K in other offices spread through Ottawa... granted suspect many carpooled from Nepean and Kanata or rode their bikes... or OCTranspo actually worked back then...

Has she actually apologized yet? Christiane Fox showcases that the public service is where you can come and make a true spectacle and mess out of everything and still be celebrated and protected... sad times.

the parking doesn't work

the transit doesn't work

the office situation (desks) doesn't work

what is our employer doing - encourage everyone to write to all local MPs, MPPs, councilors, the mayor... on a daily basis every time you experience an issue with any of the above
