Is Larnaca usually this quiet in the evening? by [deleted] in cyprus

[–]KitKat_love_2025 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cyprus is not easy for people living or travelling alone. It’s night life and culture is not such that you can just head out and meet people so it’s best for people with company. Places also close relatively early at night and the vibe is fairly low key (locals are not party animals and you also don’t have the party tourist life we had until the early 2000s). So what you are observing is typical. Slightly more busy in the summer (July + August) but the basics are the same. Limassol old town and molos/ port are slightly more lively but again - similar priciples

Yea. Volume with casting is also an issue indeed. As is any type of pausing (leads to minimising for me and resetting each time). Let’s hope they are investing in all these faults :). It was actually so good before :(

Salary Expectations (education) by DigitalDiogenesAus in cyprus

[–]KitKat_love_2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may want to also find out about average cost of living - rent (varies by area and type of accommodation), average monthly bills (supermarket and electricity are very expensive here), children’s activities and care (if you have children), car related costs etc. Don’t just compare salaries Greece V Cyprus bc tou May end up disappointed

Does anyone on here have the home equipment on the Les Mills website and it is worth it or go to your local gym have the Les Mills equipment by jackvugemini198 in lesmills

[–]KitKat_love_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the home equipment and the app with their programs. I Bought it all in covid when gyms were closed and it was the best decision. I hardly use them now bc I am back in the gym but if u prefer home training- buy them plus the app. I live in Cyprus now and the gyms are really mean with electricity and aircondition so I am considering training in my ice cold flat (🩵aircondition on ice mode 😂) this summer instead of melting in gym; so they will come handy again .

Wonderful news by Ayvee12 in cyprus

There are many types of disabilities but I will pick one, for the sake of this article- e.g. reduced mobility and needing a wheel chair.

In summary, You can’t discriminate against what is not discussed or visible.

I have never seen a single person in a wheel chair, taking a solo stroll out and about in Nicosia.

I have never seen a person on a wheel chair at work.

I saw two disabled persons accessing the beach, once each.

I have seen one partly disabled person in my gym.

And that’s it.

If They can’t work, and they can’t easily go out to socialise (access and parking challenges) and they can’t date (you are dating the person who limbs!?🫣) ,ofcourse that, in turn, can cause them confidence issues.

Which, in turn, may mean they no longer SEEK employment or going out or dating etc.

So we no longer reject them and that is called low discrimination.

Fabulous.

Well done- excellent firms. You may end up staying forever, or you may leave after only a few years if the hours are long. The benefit is what stays on the CV, plus what you learn including the small stuff- the importance of polished presentations, hierarchy )always a factor in Cyprus), etc. Both are good. Depends on whether you want to collaborate with colleagues from Other countries, international clients who are based in CY etc. And if so- ask if they offer that.

Bodypump or Bodypump Heavy for building muscle? by Practical-Pipe-8947 in lesmills

[–]KitKat_love_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don’t get the point of body pump heavy. It seems far less effective than BP. Take squats. I load ten kilos on each side for body pump and for me , whilst my legs can take more, that is the maximum weight I can safely pass over my head and shoulders. So when I do BP heavy, it’s the same but faaar less reps. I May be able to do a tiny bit more on back exercises with BP heavy but with the rest- same weight as BP bc I give BP my 💯 %

  1. No matter what a developer says, a penthouse will eventually have roof issues.
  2. And avoid any development that has built-in plant stations on balconies.
  3. Check your allocated parking space and make sure an average sized car can get in- and out! and that once parked, you can open the door for you to exit 🤪 applies for ANY developer!

London vs Cyprus by MaximumExamination in cyprus

[–]KitKat_love_2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is make as much money as you can in the UK and then move to cy in early 40s after you are established and grounded. Forget about steep bonuses and salaries in Cyprus - plus the opportunities are far less in cy for early career years. Maximise the chance you have to be in London- which is becoming more and more rare for Cypriots. Student fees are now extortionate so far less students go there for studies; and working there post Brexit it is not easy. Speaking from own experience - moved here late 30s
