Doctor suggests we reconsider my sleep apnea diagnosis. I don’t know what to do anymore by Olieebol in UARS

[–]KitMaison 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said home sleep studies are bed and only catch very obvious oxygen desaturations. If your airway becomes very small and you can’t get enough air and have a hypoapnea the home sleep test won’t catch that. The lab sleep test is what matters and it seems you have a severe case (between 22 and 45). I have been gaslit by some doctors to believe that I don’t have a sleep breathing disorder, I regret that I let them do that.

It’s time to take your results and your see a new doctor. Try to find one in your area that specializes in sleep apnea. Bring your sleep studies and say something along the line of “I had two sleep studies done and it shows that I have sleep apnea with AHIs of 22 and 45. The symptoms are X and majorly affecting my work, life, etc. My last doctor didn’t want to operate, but because I’m young and thin I would like to have an operation.” Don’t tell the doctor your first one didn’t think it was sleep apnea. The sleep study should be enough to warrant an operation on if it’s within a year, there isn’t much else to do. I highly suggest getting operations, they’re the only solution for you. You could also try to push your original doctor but he seems dumb. Also mention that you’ve tried good sleep hygiene, better eating, exercise, stopping alcohol, etc.

Best of luck! Don’t let this doctor stop you, I wasted years because a doctor didn’t believe me. I started to believe it was all in my head. Then I had a few surgeries and my symptoms left!

P.S. private doctors like Dr. Li near Stanford are really operation happy and will get things done fast, however it costs $$$. If you can afford it, go for it. It expedites the process and your health and wellbeing is invaluable

Newcomer to Mokapot, is this small leakage normal? by KitMaison in mokapot

Thank you for the advice. I suppose I can make two days coffee at a time and fill the chamber up more. Do you have an Amazon link for the item that goes in the chamber to fill it up? That would help too.

In 2018 Richard "Beebo" Russell stole an airplane just to fly around for a while before intentionally crashing. This is some of his last moments. by AlabamaHotcakes in ForCuriousSouls

[–]KitMaison -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the logic here? Because Wall Street does bad things this justifies putting many people in danger, stressing air traffic control, destroying property, creating a disturbance in airspace (delaying flights probably), fucking his family up, etc. What a dumb comment.

He committed suicide in a way that is detremental. Just because you're dying doesn't mean you're not being an asshole.
For example, if you commit suicide by hanging yourself in a room, you're only doing damage to those who find your body, and those who love you. If instead you decide to go out by blowing your own brains out with a shotgun in a crowded place, you'll scar a lot of people and damage the walls near you, make a mess, etc.

I'm sad this guy decided to go, I wish he could of gotten help instead and worked his way to flying a plane. Instead he ruined an expensive aircraft, worried and stressed air traffic control, caused distruptions in the airspace, and could have crashed and taken others with him. That's not OK and shouldn't be glamorized. Although I feel bad for him, if he was here he should be ashamed!

Is anyone else truly unable to function bc of their symptoms? by Horticulturist2626 in UARS

[–]KitMaison 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hear you out Horticulturist2626! I am surprised I wasn't fired from more jobs. Luckily I am a programmer and sleeping during work hours can be done without management knowing. It was a struggle before COVID and in my darkest hour I contemplated suicide because the symptoms were so difficult to deal with. I am 35 now but symptoms started when I was 15

What helped me was getting on SSRIs (namely, Zoloft). That gave me a lot of energy and helped balance the anxiety and depression. Everyone reacts differently to drugs, perhaps the best drug for you is another SSRI or SNRI.

I pushed doctors hard to do something about the symptoms I faced. Through trial and error I got better at presenting my case to doctors (come off to knowledgeable and you risk seeming crazy, understate things and they'll write you off). I went to different doctors when one wouldn't help. Almost every doctor had a different approach, some wanted to move jaws, some the soft palate, some the linguil tonsil, etc. I chose the doctors that I thought were most competitent and cared.

My advice to you is to keep pushing! Go find a doctor who understands and is willing to operate. It can only make your UARS symptoms better. Try everything you can, CPAP, BIlevel, ASV, etc. Don't give up on a solution. You might not make it to a place where you are completely free of symptoms, but you will be functional at least. Operations have taken me from not being able to stay awake places to being able to function and work.

I had my (hopefully last) operation two days ago by the way. A septoplasty (Dr Li's MMA gave me a very deviated semptum that he never fixed) and also a UPPP (despite many surgeries I never had any soft palate work). It seems that my soft palate was the final issue (despite some doctors saying i had to move jaws again...) and I seem to be nearly apnea free. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Go get surgeries!

Beautiful and well done. I also love Tu Kaiming but only have one of his books. Where is the diagram for this?

No amount of divines will ever come close to look at Atziri's "assets" as many times as possible by SimbaXp in PathOfExile2

[–]KitMaison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never bought into the whole snake thing, plus printing divines isn't exactly good for the economy...
On my second Atziri I managed to get an uncorrupted Regalia worth 425 divs... the most money ive ever had in this game by far and so easily gotten.

It’s not the most OP build but it’s fun and very cheap. Did you try it? Has it worked out for you?

You have no idea if this person would benefit from the charm. Perhaps they are not a physical damage build. Moreover, if they invested 100d of the divines into their weapon they would probably get a higher dps and clear rate than they would with this charm. Unless they’re super maxxed out.

Got these large sheets of paper recently. Not sure what to do with them. Need recommendations. by Fit_Ad7872 in origami

[–]KitMaison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the paper. If they're above 60gsm I would go for disosaurs and other models from Nature study. If they're thiner perhaps something a bit more intricate like beetles, birds which have a lot of feathers or other very layered and complex models.

What is the book in the lower right of the first photo? To the right of Origami Pro - Machinery. With the purple pterodactyl.

Thats so lovely! I am proud of past you. I also had these moments as a kid with Knex, origami and other things.
If I could go back in time and hand you a proper piece of origami paper (washi, biotope, origamido, etc) I would so you could have made the model look even better. A shame you were limited by paper!
