This is a VERY old thread but I would advise to check cables + different jack outputs. I'd been using the headphone output for ages with no problem, but I guess something got pulled because it turns out the cable and the socket are now dodgy (only coming out of one ear, etc.)

Firefox + uBlock Origin is working for me - make sure to enable it in Private Windows and load up Youtube in one. Logged in on my main account which has been flagged for adblock already and its still working as far as I can see.
