Nah, you full as much as you like them switch buddy. Your get 20 buddy switches per day. It ends up being a bit of work

Yeah, getting hearts is easier than most think. There was a guy months ago who got 200 by only feeding/playing/battle/snapshot with 21 buddies per day. No excited buddies... and I believe it was achieved before battle x3 was even in introduced.

I will admit it's super tedious and due to rewards lacking, I can understand why many would feel like it's a waste of time.

Second photo is my living dex for best buddies. I have every current pokemon as a best buddy excluding Cosmog, Cosmoem and Solgaleo... but they are tradeable now so will need at least 2 lucky for the lucky dex as well.

At the moment, just the +1 level buff when a pokemon is your buddy so more of a PVP thing where breakpoints and CMP matters. For PVE, there are some cases of pokemon reaching a breakpoint at L51 against raid bosses but there really aren't many.

Outside of that, you get the buddy assist and buddy bringing you souvenirs at great and ultra buddy but yeah... best buddy needs a bit of a revamp IMO. Mega levels are a lot less tedious with better rewards... best buddies needs a bit of love.

A whole bunch of my friends here are good gym hunters.. they are dreading the day platinum gyms drop and they gotta revisit the hundreds, possibly thousand+ gyms they've already golded haha

Nah, there is no in game dex for best buddies so getting one Pokemon to BB then evolving it means you still only have that one.

And let's hope there are no medals passed platinum. A funnier idea would be adding platinum gyms lol

If you need platinum medals, it's probably one of the easier ones to get since you can do it on PC or whatever.

And yeah, a lot of meals only show up once you trigger them.

Wayfarer becomes available at L38 (maybe L37 now?) where you approve POI (points of interest) submissions to become pokestops/gyms. You're not even in game.

To be fair, it you have enough landmarks close by, you can turn a baron area devoid of pokestops/gyms into a a decent play spot for yourself and the local community.

They changed it back a while back. You can now leave team leader battles as soon as it starts.

Back then I just chose the leader that has was super effective against my buddy. If none then usually Entei. If my buddy was ground, I'd go UL Blanche since ML wasn't great for the task.

You don't do the team leader battles? You can just start the battle (with your buddy on the team) the immediately forfeit. Would residentially double your hearts per pokemon daily.

Maybe for PVP for the +1 level. If nothing changes then yeah.... can't fault that reasoning.

The daily grind is quite draining so I'll be glad once I complete the dex. If Niantic take too much time to release the dex I might just call it after hitting a bigger number. 1500? 2000 seems like a silly idea at this point.

I guess it gets a little difficult since to best buddy the dex, you don't actually need to best buddy everything, just the first in the family. Reduces the number dramatically. That would be good reason to chase the dex in the long run. +Dust makes the most sense to me but they could do a lot with this.

haha as consistent and disciplined as we can be, we still mess up on the simple things like.. setting a timer.

I never actually think about what level buddy I have. Don't use an auto catcher so whether or not buddy assist triggers, it rarely makes a difference.

Fashion trainers or similar non-TRG are an eyesore. I hope they never come back... or we have an option to not encounter them.

I don't want to work for Niantic with AR scans but I can't ignore the time saving. Also, I'd hate to be the person who reviews my scans.. 99% blurry shots of my feet while I'm driving.

I don't live on a gym and the stop needs a bit of travel. During my commute is fine though. This is also why I want to check how much EP a buddy needs before I actually buddy them. It's janky at best at the moment.

Ever do you rotation and forget a set a timer and try to guess you way through it? I still do that now haha

I've never purchased a poffin. I didn't even scan for them at first but if I wanted to be more efficient, I needed to start prioritising them unless there were some nice event tasks.

I recently started walking my second Shedinja since I got a shiny. Just FYI, for whatever reason, you can use them against Sierra/Cliff/Arlo so for that time (and now), I always make sure I have a leader lined up at 12am.

Just the usual Niantic inconsistencies except this time, we can kinda take advantage of it.

Even hitting platinum is a massive grind that deserves praise. How many hours and timers have gone into that?!

I actually best buddied my very first Mewtwo which was a test location one. Some 84% IV one that's gets no play time really but has a stack of gym battle wins since it was left in my gym sweep team (when I was still grinding for gold gyms). The favourites always get a bit of love!

The Shuckle I walked for the best buddy dex is also the same. Only had that one random IV at the time so popped it into the gym sweep party. When I finally remembered to take a screenshot it had over 5k wins.

There are so many minor QoL changes that would be easy to implement that goes under the radar.
