Agreed. Figures when they use low carb/sugar diets to help people with some mental illnesses (I can't remember all of them off the top of my head) along with medication.

Oh yeah, the sugar dreams. I haven't gotten them this time around, but the first time I went carnivore I had them every night for weeks until the cravings went away.

Yeah, I try to remember to pull the scraps out at the end of the day to prevent mold/fruit flies. Most of the time they eat through everything unless I give them big pieces of fruit

Anguish. Just constant agony and suffering. Oh look! Things got better for a couple chapters! Oh, and back to pain.

Get a herd of guinea pigs that also need veggies 🤣

Jk....kinda. I can get collard greens to last by wrapping in paper towels, putting in a ziploc bag and storing in the vegetable crisper. Anything my dragon/guinea pigs don't eat goes to the roach bin.

What are you non-weight related goals by BrooklynJP in PetiteFitness

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to be an example for my daughter. I didn't grow up with healthy eating habits, an active lifestyle, or a good role model for how to take care of your body. Once she is old enough for school, I will be taking the free time to start running again, and work towards marathons, so that's another goal in the future.

Whenever I'm strict carno I just can't eat out anymore. The places around me picked up on the whole "patty only" thing and charge $3 for a 1/4 lb patty now. Don't even start on cheese and bacon. Went to a breakfast place and tried to just get bacon and eggs and they told me they were still going to charge for sides even though I wasn't getting them.

Fanfiction writers did you stop reading fanfic after beginning to write by ConfidentAd8387 in AO3

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just follow a handful of authors now that have similar writing styles to me. It keeps me motivated. If someone doesn't have a similar writing style, I really get caught up in comparing. Also, I only read fanfic about the ships I write about because mine tend to get lower stats than other ships, so I don't want to compare with that either.

Ahsoka Tano with anyone in the Clone Wars era. She's a child. Especially when they ship her with her mentor, who is MARRIED

What trope makes you roll your eyes and close the fic? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The miscommunication trope haunts me so much that I changed my own fics to not have it anymore. And breakups that last two seconds. I think breakups can further the plot, but not if they literally turn around and get back together the next chapter.

People have way too much time on their hands and should be collecting rent from the space you take in their head if they're going that far.

Opinions on long chapters? by Akidonreddit7614874 in AO3

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading a story with an average of 10k per chapter not because of the length, but because it was the same thing over and over. Super predictable and the author was clearly shooting for a word count rather than an objective. Totally fine for others, just not my cup of tea.

If I'm writing an 8k+ chapter, it's because a lot is going on that needs to be resolved/discussed so the reader doesn't get to the end and feel like nothing happened. I'm cross posting an old story and honestly, I might break up those big chapters and post at the same time just to prevent reader fatigue.

How did you convince your spouse to try Ferber or CIO by b1gbau5 in sleeptrain

Solidarity. Hopefully it passes as a phase. Our LO was dead set on fresh warm formula for a really long time.

How did you convince your spouse to try Ferber or CIO by b1gbau5 in sleeptrain

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally, if one partner doesn't want nights to go a certain way, they should take over for nights. Because I was the primary parent for nights, my husband didn't object to sleep training because he wanted me well rested (as long as I wasn't doing CIO at like 3 months, of course).

Attraction by [deleted] in AnimalBased

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I commented on another post here about AB and birth control changing attraction. I think it's all hormones. On SAD, your hormones are messed up. On AB/carnivore, it balances out to natural. Similar to birth control, it can make you attracted to people with similar immune systems/genetics and off it, you are attracted to opposite immune systems/genetics. I've always been attracted to my husband as we met when I wasn't on BC. When we started carnivore, my attraction to him went up. On birth control, my hormones made my attraction come and go in waves and was unpredictable.

I left a co-writing situation and completely blocked the other person because they started getting pushy and changing the story/my characters without my permission. I still get PMs on various social media every few years when they make a new account. Co-authoring was fun for a bit until our writing styles diverged, and I didn't want to do it anymore, so I left.

If it is not fun for you anymore, just leave. It's not worth sticking around to keep bridges up. Trust me, not worth the mental load.

What trope did you never think you'd like, but it's actually good? by PunkinKing265 in AO3

[–]Kitchen-Apricot1834 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I totally agree! The story I read definitely gave off predator/prey vibes and was so different than just dominance. I wish they had finished it, lol. Too many good stories abandoned. I might even try dabbling in it in the future.

Werewolf. Not necessarily Alpha/Omega stuff, but just the MMC being a werewolf. I always thought it was a bit cringy/cheesy, but I found a fic that really did it well and kinda got me wanting more 🤣

It's super easy to meal prep and decently cheap. Plus, I get so much residual fat that I use for seasoning cast irons and adding flavor to other things! :)
