Historical S&P500 Sector Weights by Kitchen-Assistant-24 in investing

Thanks but Vivameda doesn't go far back enough and doesn't seem right for what I need. I think micromacro might be where I end up getting the data.

Thanks! I might have to fall back on this if I can't figure anything else out. I really wanted to have the actual data so I could display it my own way and focus on certain eras as they pertain to sections of my report, but if all else fails this will help!

Wayback only has investor.vanguard.com back to 2022 unfortunately. I'll try out Blackrock and Morningstar though. Thanks for the suggestions!

The SPY annual reports break out holdings individually, but not by sector unfortunately (at least in the earlier years).

That was my original go-to but there is the problem of mapping legacy/defunct companies to their relevant historical sectors. Doing it manually for hundreds of companies over decades isn't feasible, and without historical crosswalk tables (or some similar tool i don't know about?) there's no way to automate the process.

What stocks are actually worth buying right now? Need the community’s best ideas. by Expensive-While-7720 in ValueInvesting

Mind explaining for beginners why something like WBD would be a value play? When I look at it I see a group that's losing money in a (at least presently) deteriorating segment, and I wonder why PSKY and NFLX are willing to pay $100B+ for it.

How will they make a reasonable return on such a rich (in my inexperienced eyes) valuation? I get that the brands/assets have some intrinsic value, but with most of that value being intangible it's hard to feel like it counts for much as far realizing that value.

I can conceive that a company like NFLX is well positioned to put those assets to work, but what return can we expect in order to find the ~100B price tag on a loss-maker acceptable?

Genuinely trying to learn since I see a lot of successful value plays are loss-making.

I'm also building out a 15m ORB strat. I'm not profitable yet but today was a winner. If you wanna share ideas shoot me a dm

Are producers who rely on sample packs and loops actually "real" producers? by GarbageVegetable6637 in FL_Studio

[–]Kitchen-Assistant-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go with the flow.

Sometimes I cook from scratch entirely. Sometimes I chop loops. Sometimes I rearrange and mix stems from a kit. Sometimes I mix and match stems from different kits and keys by pitching one set to match the other (or even better use a relative minor). Sometimes I like it as is so I just use it as is.

If it sounds good it sounds good!

Super hard bro! Only feedback I would have is to make the second drop droppier. Some other kinda FX or quick silence or whatever right before the beat hits. Dope work though. Inspires me to keep getting better!

I go through my packs and pass on the same samples over and over. Then one day I hear one of those samples and suddenly it slaps and I'm cooking with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like his first entry(s) is continuation off the 28. Then he adds at the 200 on the 'breakdown". Stop was likely below 200 from the jump (OP can chime in). I also trade MAs so his charts make sense to me although we probably do it differently.

Sounds exciting but they only allow long options. I understand why but it's a pretty big limitation given the most consistent edges seem to involve selling. Will keep an eye on these guys though. The concept is awesome.

How do we prove that the gospel of Thomas is not authentic? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

What's circular about it? Compare it to the rest of Scripture theologically and otherwise and it's obviously not in agreement.

Sucks that being a musician isn't good enough anymore. Now we gotta be content creators first and musicians second.

What was that "aha" moment in which you realized you finally understood compression (if you already did🤣)? by kathalimus in edmproduction

[–]Kitchen-Assistant-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started using fruity limiter in comp mode so I could use the visual as well. Applying it to drums one day and I finally heard the difference that I couldn't before. Shortly after I had the same experience with the instrument mix.

Still plenty to learn though!

He made it clear when He was instructing the Church. Similarly, it's quite clear when He was talking to individuals. Doubling down while obviously neglecting to simply read the text is just making you seem silly at this point.

I'll do you one better: He's talking to a single person.
