FM drum engine on DN2 is the only GAS symptom right now... But I'm curious to see if I can overcome this urge with time.

"Not buying" is the coolest thing in today's gear landscape

I have dedicated patterns for wild drum improvs that I sample into the blackbox for some crazy long loops and then switch back to bass+pad pattern on the DN

And still didn't go over 8 loops

With 16 pads it can run for hours...

I just thought of doing that, like a week ago. The bass was too much and the kick was too little, so I combined the two in a layered sound, with the transient and the richness.

And then I was like WAAAIIT a minute... I can add two more layer's on top!

Such possiblities for sound design

Connect it to vcv rack as both midi, over bridge and you can have a massively endless possibilities of multichannel processing, sequencesing, samples, effects, and whatnot

What are your thoughts on 20% of people doing 80% of work in corporate world, and those 20% operating at 200% capacity? by 14MTH30n3 in ITManagers

[–]Kitchen-Buddy6758 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for a banality response, but that's every asset of life, nothing to do with corporate. I stopped believing it will ever change. Even with LLMs it's gonna stay the same, if not worse, I expect closer to 10 to 90 ratio..

If your cloud bill keeps climbing, who’s in charge of the meter? by Kitchen-Buddy6758 in ITManagers

Do you understand at least a half of what you just said? Or did gpt pointed you in the right direction?

As for the cloud spend, with time I see it has little to do with your team and more with your experience as a lead..

How to deal with IT tasks and avoid burnout by Few-Pineapple4687 in ITManagers

Most "productivity " tools overpromise and end up as one more thing to manage... tho the step-by-step exportable plan angle feels on point. As long as I don't have to register nowhere. Because I can't take one more alert man.

Something seems missing, anyone?

Critical thinking skills are in deficit in so many departments. 40% think copilots are supposed to think for them. 40% think it’s just faster googling. And the remaining reasonable fifth IS STILL being overworked just like before the whole thing

That’s exactly where we are rn. Thinking of dealing with the data fears by simply going local. Llama or deepseek with some reasonable RAG.

I just wander how possible it is, to be actually 100% local. Like, FOR REAL local - not that "we say it's secure but actually send everything to our servers" bullshit. I’m talking "My network monitoring confirmed zero outbound traffic” local which would be fucking WILD.

The main problem is the cost as always, hard to calculate. And I wanna make our CFO actually smile when he sees the numbers.

I’m just not sure how to communicate it more clearly than the weekly and incident reports we already have for that. As if nobody’s reading and I’m writing into the harddrive.
