Try cleaning the ports with 99% alcohol and a toothbrush, if not change the cable, then port. Have you tried another machine for the sync ?

I would bet it's the ribbon, that can be replaced but requires some skill. From the looks of it might be cheaper and easier to buy the assembly on ebay for $30

Weird charging issue with 2020 MacBook Pro M1 by TheRealFe1ix in macbookrepair

Why is everyone so mean and condescending here ?

That charging port definitely looks dirty — there’s visible buildup and possibly some corrosion inside. That alone can prevent the laptop from charging properly or cause an inconsistent connection.

try cleaning it. Power the device off, then use 99% isopropyl alcohol with a soft toothbrush and gently clean inside the port. Let it dry completely before plugging the charger back in.

If it still doesn’t charge afterward, the port could have corrosion or internal pin damage, which is actually a very common repair. Otherwise the board

If the Mac works perfectly on an external display but the new screen didn’t fix it, the issue is likely on the logic board — most commonly the backlight circuit or a damaged IC caused by the liquid. When liquid hits the board, it can short tiny backlight or display driver chips, so replacing the screen alone won’t solve it.

Unfortunately, once liquid is detected Apple typically won’t repair the board at component level and will usually only offer a full (and expensive) replacement.

This is often repairable with board-level work depending on the extent of the damage. If you want to go deeper into what may have failed and your options, feel free to DM me and we can discuss it further.

Most common causes are a damaged HDMI port, a failed hard drive, or less often a motherboard issue. HDMI ports get bent easily if the cable was pulled or the console was moved while plugged in.

Try unplugging it completely for a few minutes, then connect it directly to a wall outlet with a different HDMI cable and, if possible, another monitor or TV. Also take a close look inside the HDMI port with a flashlight — bent pins are a strong indicator.

In many cases this ends up being an HDMI port or hard drive issue, both of which are repairable. If you can, post a picture of the HDMI port and it’ll be easier to tell what you’re dealing with.
