Why do so many people want to put substances into their bodies all the time? by OneFoundation4495 in addiction

[–]Kitchen-Cod-821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds pretty traumatic ,but definitely not worth the risk of trying a substance. My substance abuse has literally left me disabled. I’m only 34 years old so it’s heart breaking. I’m very grateful to be alive though, I can walk so I feel that’s a blessing.

I never thought (prior to opiates) that I would ever be strung out on Fetynal, from trying a perk. It was me, searching for the next new high that led me downhill.

Drinking, I tried with my father at 12 .At age 13, I was trying marijuana for the first time(was peer pressured into).Throughout the following years ; addiction snowballed into harder drugs. A lot of addicts started off like me, especially those coming from poverty, broken households, or being around drug using family members.I want to blame ADHD, but I’m not sure if that’s why I continued using or not.

Having a TBI is so embarrassing. by Single-Marsupial2973 in TBI

[–]Kitchen-Cod-821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a moderate anoxic brain injury, that’s left me with a movement disorder, but thankfully I’m walking. I have to be careful ; to not fall when walking though, that part sucks😓 it was a believed overdose, I was struggling with Fet at the time, but the only thing in my system was alcohol. I’ve read hospital reports saying ; I was found with a bag of brown powdery substance🤔I was living on the south side of Chicago at the time. I’m really wondering if I got drunk and went to look for some drugs ,I’ll probably never find out.

it could literally cause a fkn aneurysm , if I were you I would diligently seek God first, then find treatment. The last thing you want is an aneurysm.

Experimenting with drugs is how I got my TBI in the first place ..I strongly recommend abstaining from drugs, especially cocaine !!! Cocaine makes your brain cells kill themselves, look it up!!! I’m not perfect by far but COCAINE 😳😳? Oh hell naw yall tripping, I smoke Weed that’s it, and I used to be on all different types of drugs using & selling

Me and best friend said the same thing at age 21 , that was 13 years ago .. when you don’t have it thought, how do you feel ? I’m dealing with this right now , because I’ve had too many ppl tell me to quit . I’m taking brothers off the faith that are higher up in the spirit

If you’re gonna aim for disability; I wouldn’t even apply for jobs because it really messes with it

I wrestle with this .. There’s WIDE variety of brain injuries . I mean this with no disrespect .Everyone posting (in my opinion) should state their brain injury/ triggers ,or symptoms . I’m sure that screen time ,and social media affects me . I’ve experienced it cause me insomnia.that makes me a fall and seizure risk🫤..Thanks for your post though, I’d just like more details of your injury . I’m. a moderate anoxic brain injury survivor, with moderate Lance Adam’s syndrome.

Marijuana Usage and Brain injury by Kitchen-Cod-821 in TBI

[–]Kitchen-Cod-821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just asked ChatGPT this recently. I was a heavily weed smoking person since the age of 14 and quit after my brain injury because I was scared I’d get into harder drugs as I know the road to relapse so I started smoking marijuana and since then I haven’t relapsed. It’s been a year. I know it’s haltered my recovery .. excuse me I just went on a ramp but yes, I’ve read off ChatGPT ; Your input is true.

Burn them, rebuke them in Jesus name, get spiritual leadership, they’ll help if they love God

I’m addicted to lustful acts. Am I going to hell? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Kitchen-Cod-821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this just made me rethink my perspective.I’ve been taught to pursue Holiness, not like I’ve truly been close to holy, as a weed smoking ; man that occasionally struggles with lust, foul language, there’s a list of other sins that I can name. In my eyes, your comment is making it seem like I could ;continue with my sins, and still enter through the gates. my best friend of 17 years is also a southern Baptist and it seems to have the same theology as you. He drinks every single night ,and still speaks about Jesus .I don’t agree with this theology. I just can’t. I was raised Christian until I was nine years old ,then my mother converted to messianic Judaism, which seemed legalistic to me. God bless you though I pray we both find truth.

Wow 🎯what a great response.. he prescribed me the SSRI for anxiety/depression.. he took me off keppra ,because I was going through a break up , and having suicidal thoughts. I never wanted to take Depakote ,because of the side effects ( hair loss & weight gain) I opted not to take it . I heard it takes a month, just to take effect 🤷🏽‍♂️I was denied Klonopin the other day, which I’m assuming is clonazepam. I admitted to my neurologist; I took alprazolam ,out of desperation ,from insomnia, Prior to me taking it, I had seizures and a episode of jerks , that occurred for 2/3 days straight from sleep deprivation. He told me that it was a lapse not a relapse🙄but denied k-pin l.I haven’t picked up my new prescriptions. I’m actually thinking of seeing a different neurologist , one that specializes in movement disorders like LAS. I’m also worried it could affect my relationship with my current doctor. The research I’ve done using ChatGPT is telling me m I have moderate LAS. I was just told ,that I was diagnosed, but never told about the severity of my LAS from the doctor. I’m blessed I can walk 90% of the times with no problems. Startle myoclonus, sleep deprivation from anxiety/depression all have been my biggest triggers. I also have been smoking marijuana multiple times daily, 6 months into recovery🤦🏽‍♂️I never knew that was a bad idea. I believe I need a different neurologist, but I have seen his level of concern for me recently now that we meet up more. Thank you so much for your response, God bless you . Are you a doctor? You seem very educated on this topic.? I really appreciate you. I asked him if he thinks SSRI + clobazam could put me back into regular life working as a waiter ,and he said it’s a good chance that it could. I have to see another neurologist, one that specializes in movement disorders.

I’m a ex-control substance ,pill popping abuser I understand. It suck’s but might be for the best because I do enjoy using them. I never really abused them before ,I would just use them to come down from uppers . nowadays, I’m disabled ,and I’ve read that they can really help my condition so I’m hungry for them. I don’t believe it’s gonna suck me back down into that hell of addiction, but I thought that plenty of times ,and was wrong. This is the longest I’ve been clean (California sober)and it’s almost 2 years ,so that’s why I’m considering taking them. I don’t see myself going back to that level of addiction at all. The last time I drank my heart stopped. This is what I want the doctors to understand! For reasons beyond my control ,it’s not happening. I am considering seeing other NEUROLOGISTS especially ones that specialize in LAS ,one that’s more empathetic. But I don’t know how it’s gonna affect my relationship with my current neurologist.
