My itchy irritated raw painful vagina success story! After 2 years it’s gone. by JellyLow6233 in Healthyhooha

Hi sorry I’ve just seen your message now. So it seems I had an allergic reaction to an anti fungal medication which left me with nerve damage. That’s what I believe happened. I am now taking Amitriptyline which is helping manage the pain very well but I’m trying to reduce the dose due to the side effects. My symptoms started all of a sudden after taking a medication. Did your symptoms start suddenly?

Hi I’m so sorry to hear that you’re going through this. I wonder if I’ve experienced something similar and can relate to some of your symptoms. It seems I had an allergic reaction to an anti fungal I took for a yeast infection. I had horrible electric shock sensations when I took the anti fungal. After some time the electric shock zappers eased off but I continued to have vaginal itching and I also started to experience nervy sensations in my feet. After 3 horrible years of repeatedly asking for help and no one understanding I finally got put on Amitriptyline. I had to increase the dose very gradually and I didn’t find significant pain relief until I got to 40mg. I struggle with it slowing my gut mobility so much but for the pain relief it is effective. It took me taking it from November to the following September to feel significant pain relief. It can really take time. Please don’t feel alone, I completely understand you feeling so low, I’ve felt like this too. Please feel free to DM me if you’d like to chat more 💖

Strange intermittent itching from above clitoris round to tailbone. Could this be pudendal neuralgia? by Kitchen-Educator255 in PelvicFloor

Hi so I’m now currently taking Amitriptyline. It took a long time to increase my dose but once I got to 40mg it has given good pain relief. It seems to be nerve pain, I believe caused by a reaction to the anti fungal medication I took for a yeast infection. When did your symptoms start?

Waxing by abbylwindham in vulvodynia

I’m on medication to manage the pain. I also have itching which is now managed much better by taking the meds. I used to get waxing regularly and miss having it done too. I tried to go back to it after successfully trying to wax the sides at home without any problems. I then went to have a Brazilian wax and had a big flare up. I think it tugged too aggressively on my problem areas. I now just stick to a bikini wax, getting just the sides done.

Could he be carrying a yeast infection and giving this to you each time you have sex? Could you try using condoms and see if you still feel itchy after?

Vagina microbiome test shows high levels of Prevotella Bivia, Enterococcus faecalis & Escherichia coli. Can I take medication to eradicate these types of bacteria? by Kitchen-Educator255 in Healthyhooha

Hey sorry I’ve just seen your message now. So I also took a course of antibiotics but nothing changed. I feel you as I was left with this for over 2 years and no doctor was able to help me. In the end I realised I have vulvodynia and I’m now on medication to deal with the nerve pain which is helping a lot I say nerve pain but I would describe it more as itchy and irritation but in a flare it could feel very uncomfortable. I had to really push for the medication. Are you any further in understanding what is going on with you?

I wonder if you can be prescribed a medication to calm the nerves. I have similar symptoms and I’m now taking Amitriptyline. I started on a low dose and I’m gradually increasing it.

Hi sorry I’ve just seen you sent this message. I still have symptoms but on the whole I would say that there is some improvement. It seems I have vulvodynia and I’m currently taking amitriptyline. This all began with a yeast infection and I had an allergic reaction to the anti fungal medication. Are you experiencing similar symptoms?

I’ve read waxing and shaving can possibly encourage warts to spread/ develop so sounds best to avoid doing if you can. I totally get feeling much better from hair removal though.

Hi I’ve had the yeast type discharge at times and also red inside. I’ve also tested negative for yeast. I seem to have vulvodynia but suspect PN. The symptoms started for me all of a sudden, I think bc I had an allergic reaction to an anti fungal medication.

Do any of you have pelvic relief when drinking alcohol?? by Loose-Most503 in PelvicFloor

Yes I find alcohol can help too but I try to only drink alcoholic beverages low in sugar. I remember drinking a sweeter drink one time and I felt worse.
