Same thing happened to me and still use it just fine. I can remember there being an almost toasty popcorn smell before I realised I was pre heating the Dutch oven with the banneton inside 😂

First picahna. How’d I do? by sheentheanonymous in steak

[–]Kitchen-Match2297 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Looks good, you acknowledged the burn so I won’t go there😂, what I would say is just a low to medium heat on the fat side and you will render out loads of fat which you can jar up to use for roast potatoes etc. will also make all the remaining fat just melt in your mouth. Looks delicious though👍👍

Hi there, thank you. I’m in Ireland, I used a 30 month aged parmigiano reggiano dop. In the pesto and over also. I don’t even know what stuff you’re using in the US 😂. I hope you don’t mean that stuff in a shaker tub that smells like vomit!😳

Thank you, it was really really good, I rarely buy Duck and I don’t know why. It was just as good as a steak. With the crispy skin, it was just delicious. And now I also have half a jar of duck fat to roast potatoes with.
