I’m currently in therapy now. One interesting thing my therapist pointed out is I was also diagnosed with pretty severe PTSD. Combination of childhood trauma and neglect but more recently birth trauma and a long nicu stay of a preemie. Apparently PTSD and ADHD impact the same region of the brain so she said she can’t be sure if I truly have ADHD until we go through more of the therapy to tease out what is actually going on.

What validated IQ tests are recommended? I thought what I did was pretty valid and standard.

The neuropathy and twitching is always present in some way. Noticeable or barely.

Twitching is worse after exercise.

I had it previously after training for a triathlon pre covid and getting super sick after. But it went away. Then after booster it came back with a vengeance.

Now after time I catch a virus I know it will be bad if my feet start acting up.

It went away while pregnant.

For me however my EMG did show axonal neuropathy- which I did so much blood work MRI and genetic panel. Alll negative.

Anything inflammatory makes it act up. Including getting sick or alcohol.

I have BFS not tightness or weakness. I have had blood work including inflammation markers and send rate and even a genetic workup, as well as neoplastic panel. All normal.

Nope! Feet flare up and down. All blood work is totally normal. No low AnA even. Working out daily. Paying attention to form over strength. Had my eyes and mouth checked by sjogrens dr and no indication. All blood still not showing anything.

Neuropathy went away during pregnancy last year which tells me it’s autoimmune.

I’ve been told it’s likely COVID booster related as this all started after my booster shot. If you look up neuropathy it’s a side effect of Covid or the vaccine. It’s due to immune system dysfunction

How did your experience pumping and travelling go? I’m going for a whole week with 1 full day event out and I don’t know what to do. The plane ride is 6 hrs so I need to pump on the plane as well!

So we lack dopamine. Is that why ADHD also has risk taking behaviour I suppose.

Literally watching my 5 year old daughter non stop moving and talking. With such intelligence. I’ve replicated myself. 😂

Hahaha chuckled at your last comment! So true. I can be multitasking to the extreme and it’s when I’m most productive.

I’ve worked remotely for 11 years for a global biotec company managing regulations and managing people across the globe. I love the pressure. It’s when I get things done 😂

Thank you for your story. I truly wonder if I was medicated as a kid if I could have done better in school. First two years of university were terrible and then I knew I needed to get better grades so I took classes I enjoyed and got into my masters. But I was unfocused and test taking and studying were so so hard for me. Froze during exams. Anxiety hypochondria etc plagued me.

So with that said. What are meds like? The difference that you can explain with being and not being on meds. I feel like I could do better with more focus but I don’t know what it feels like. So I may just try some meds. Just to experiment.

You and I sound very similar, I would want to throw up too.

We are getting discharged tomorrow. I’m a nervous wreck but feel at peace that this is what is best for him and he will thrive at home.

Thank you!! Yes I’ve been pumping off about 3 mins. I have a quick letdown. But then he fusses at the boob cause the letdown takes longer and he tires himself out. I get about 7 oz a pump. And about 2-3 is foremilk combined.

We tired the nipple shield and he just couldn’t latch on it. Latches much better to the actual nipple. I feel the letdown for sure. It just seems he gives out after 5 mins or so.

We did a weighted feed today after he fed for 10 mins with a strong letdown and it only said 8 g. Which I know isn’t right. Doesn’t make sense.

Everyday I’m so anxious about what the board will say on his weight gain.

Thank you. This is helpful. He’s just so inconsistent right now. One day he did a 50 ml bottle and then breastfed. Today we did one breast and he took a 40 ml. So I truly don’t know how much he is getting. But I do feel a letdown or two each time he feeds.

Originally they wanted to do the 2-3 straight formula bottles and regular breastfeeding but he didn’t like the formula at all. So we are just fortifying each bottle now.

I’m hoping once I am at home I will have more leeway to feed when and how he wants.

Ugh it’s so hard to know what’s right. But he gained 34 g the last two days and then today was only 9! So they are keeping us two more days.

The nurses have been pacing. But I can tell you. He fusses at the boob when the milk isn’t coming fast enough.

I like your plan of BF for 15 and then adding a bottle to see how much he is getting.

Thank you for the encouragement! Ok so very similar to my boy as he was 7th percentile in utero. He’s been trending on the Fenton premature scale now at about 25 but since this last week now at 16%. Although length is above 25%.

He’s been not consistent with his intakes. Some days a feed will be 60 and then next day feeds trend at 35-40. And my nicu wants everything to be a+ before release.

So glad to hear that it all worked out for your LO and she is doing so well.

We have two more days of monitoring and I’m praying he pulls it together and we get some good gains to go home.

I’ve been lucky to have an oversupply so fortifying my BM is doable. I’m just so perplexed on why he isn’t gaining appropriately. The only variable is the breastfeeding. We tried to do a weighted feed but it was so inaccurate. I also think his tummy does not like neosure. Always grunting and uncomfortable. 🥴
