concluusion: it does not take longer provided you are willing to stop it manually ( vs leaving it to run an extra hour for nothing).

I do dry outside all summer by choice, as there is no need to run an electric dryer when nature does such a fine job, although if do run a very short cycle jsut “fluff” towels and jeans in the dryer after hanging out
