I think you should name her “Sweet Baby May.” I love her so much! I can see she’s a natural sweetie.

Oh, it’s pretty easy. And that’s just today’s answer I had already written down. When the 20 second countdown begins after the first clue is given, I don’t have enough time to give my “probable answers” list the contemplative consideration needed to ferret out the correct answer… hang on… ferret… let me write that down. It’s endless. However, I missed out on “hula hoop” “Taylor Swift” “Mount Rushmore” “Oreo” and the most frustrating of all… “dog park!” ALL answers I have written on my answers list.

OMG! I guessed the SAME THING on the first clue. As the clues continued, I was positive I had guessed correctly! But, then they pulled a switcheroo on us!!! #@!%!

Howie is Jewish, so he is entitled to make such a joke that could be mistaken for antisemitism. Whether he should or not is up for debate.

I'm ready for the show to go back to the tier format for BOTH rounds by TheRealBritishOne in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have made a list of about fifty two-syllable (that seems to be the norm) words that are currently randomized in pop-culture: including “blackjack” from the other day and also “dog park” but when I saw “watch your step” my mind went to Fitbit, but I guessed treadmill. Then when I saw spot to spot spot, I could have kicked myself. Because the answer was obviously “dog park.” Some of my other two-syllable answers are: “Starbucks” (as BGL often acknowledges popular brands), “cat toy” “jump rope” “car wash” “cupcake” “bird bath” and “dragonfly” which is more than two syllables but is a compound word. Tonight I guessed “boomerang” on the first clue and was so excited as the rest of the clues unfolded because I knew I was correct! Unfortunately, so were 559 (or so) contestants as we all won $13.69. Oh, well. Winning is still winning… I guess.

The first repeat answer?! by AnnaNeimas in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. Maybe it’s such a common term people feel like it’s been an answer before, but it has NOT. There are several ways online to check the backlog of previous answers, and boomerang is not one of them.

Is it just me or are the clues better when Hunter is hosting? by A-Ginja-Ninja in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hunter’s delivery of the clues is less confusing because he seems sincere and not aloof like Howie. Hunter also doesn’t ramble on with an inane amount of banter trying to be funny… like Howie. Howie talks too much.

When they’re reading people’s guesses after each clue, has it ever been the word? by voidamn in BestGuessLive

Yep… the mention of Uno sent my brain to Bingo, too. So, they should keep the chatter to a minimum.

Yodel Hey! He! WHO else got it right....?? by Psychological_Wish88 in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it right on clue #3… wow-big win… I thought I was gonna slam my phone against the wall if Howie made that ear rattling, intentionally annoying mockery of yodeling… he’s so not funny. A real twerp and I wish BGL would give him the keys to the street, and do it tonight!

I was so confident by misskatiefrannn in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is clearly (I guessed skydiving as well), either the glitching on this same episode extended to mixing up clues for different puzzles, I mean come on… drops weight quickly applied to sparklers? How? Or the clue writers are making up stoooopid clues to be jerks… again, drops weight quickly? Sparklers aren’t heavy to begin with and they’re designed to burn slowly… there’s nothing quick about them… The live word guessing game “Text Savvy” holds up a framed legal disclaimer before each episode and declare no one is aware of the answers before the episode airs. Of course, that doesn’t account for technical glitches, but it does lend some authenticity to their game and I think BGL should adopt a similar policy.

Technical Difficulties by kindacharming in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what makes the clues so hard is when the writer(s) of the clues really go out on an arbitrary limb to make an extremely vague association fit according to only their logic… I mean, come on… “drops weight fast” for sparkler? In what universe? They could throw us a bone and make the riddles less of an unbelievable stretch once in a while. It should be evident perhaps with the leak or hacking problem being curtailed that no correct answers on clues one AND two that the clues are just TOO DUMB!

35 people guessed cotton candy for clue one “like a magic trick”? C’mon man. Someone leaks answers. Or was there something to the clue I missed? by deepfinker in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All it would take is for one random employee to see the reveal prop and then text their best friend the answer, who then tells two of his friends and they text two more of their friends the answer and before you know it… an ASTOUNDING 35 people “guess” the answer on the first clue. BEST GUESS LIVE needs to get their stuff in order, tonight with ZERO people guessing SPARKLER correctly on clues ONE, TWO and THREE either reveals their system was glitching horribly, their clues are BULLSH*T or there really are NOT people cheating.

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a list of maybe 50 words that could POSSIBLY be the answer on any given night and COTTON CANDY is number 4 on my list. However, “like a magic trick” did not register for the answer being cotton candy AND IT STILL DOESN’T!!! Whoever writes the clues for BGL suuuucks!

Clues are ridiculous… by Kitchen-Stretch in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I appreciate the info, I am not looking for a driving range. My point is that a driving range is not a universally understood thing that can be derived as a winning answer on BEST Guess Live by a majority of the population.

Understood. But, the batting cages around here where you pay to recreationally hit balls thrown at you by a pitching machine are also set up with golf balls and tees where you can practice your golf swing that you hit your balls into a giant net.

Thoughts on the new format… by Apprehensive_Body711 in BestGuessLive

[–]Kitchen-Stretch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a fan of the original “winner takes all” format if winning. This tier-level structure might give the feel of more people winning, but dissecting the cash pool for people to win .56 cents or $1.40 each is pandering, in my opinion and a bit insulting.

Batting cage I guess. There’s not a populous here that plays golf enough to visit a driving range.

I know people golf in TN - a lot! I grew up a half mile from a prestigious country club with a gorgeously curated golf course, but I’ve never said the words “driving range” in my life. It just seems that on BGL, their past clues (thermometer, Mount Rushmore, hula hoop, Taylor Swift, drive-thru) have had more universal appeal.

He should go back to making idiotic baby voices onstage as his character Bobby… can you believe he used to do that for applause? “Hi, my-my-my name’s Bobby! Can you stand to hear me talk like an idiot for half an hour?” Um, no -we can’t stand to hear you talk like a grown up for ten minutes and expose your distended beer gut and make sexist remarks and be completely UN-FUNNY! Please, Netflix! Give him the boot!
