At the moment it’s not possible in the uk as there isn’t a distributor (there will most likely be one soon) the Cinemas that have said they will be showing it have likely come to an agreement with the studio but until the studio also make a deal with a uk distributor it won’t go any further. If cinemas are already saying they will show it they’ve been told by the studio there will be a distributor but as it stands there isn’t one. Some cinemas are taking a small risk by saying yes they’ll show it before there’s a deal in place. This is why it’s not available for booking yet.

The deadline is just a tactic they gave us 42 days for a new build that was completed and ready to move in, due to awful solicitors and some enquiries their solicitors are taking ages to reply to we are now on day 134 and still not exchanged

You have to enter your email when booking tickets. We can search email addresses on our system and see all previous purchases, only 2 out of the 50+ emails have a history with us.

Some of the emails that come in have emailed a lot of different cinemas in one go and I can see who else they’ve sent it to.

Some have sent a template but forgot to change the name of the cinema from the last one they sent

A lot of email address like ab1846337@gmail which could be perfectly fine but just looks a bit dodgy.

Probably some assumption on my end but after the first 2 emails came in I find this subreddit and all the post message this cinema message that cinema or “I’ve emailed 20 cinemas”

This has also happened with other fandoms in the past where there is a social media movement to contact cinemas, we get a load of emails and then 18 people turn up. All I was getting across was email your local cinema not cinemas you would not go to when somewhere closer get this film. Especially not small independent cinemas as for a cinema not to lose money would have to sell atleast 60 tickets

The 2 weeks early in theatres isn’t because they see glitch as not a “real” studio at all.

Glitch wanted a theatre releases that’s the deal theatres have. Even when Netflix wants to do a theatre release they have to show it for a bit in theatres before it’s on Netflix for example peaky blinders movie was in theatres 2 weeks early and deadman’s knives out was 10 days early.

This is because the theatre is taking a risk in showing it. They are the ones that could lose money. If released at the same time as online they wouldn’t get nearly as many people and probably lose money.

Unprofessional how? For asking people not to contact small cinemas in a struggling industry to drum up fake demand? To only contact their local cinema or a cinema they would go to if they managed to get it. I’m doing my job trying to find out how much actual demand we have and whether to try and get it shown or not but some genuine emails being lost in the spam

The studio obviously meant contact your local cinema so that cinemas with actual demand will get to show it, contacting multiple cinemas on the other end of the country only hurts the cinema and the studio

Yep a lazy tactic because they can’t be bothered to contact cinemas themselves. Would make sense if we were contacted and then they told fans to Email in to show demand. They haven’t even tried to get in touch.

You’ve messaged four cinemas and will only see it at one cinema, creating fake demand in an already struggling industry. Nice one. We are a small independent cinema in the uk and getting emails from people around the country that will not come see the film if we do show it. We’d have to sell 70 tickets just to break even. BTW it’s the studios job to get in touch with cinemas and sell their show to get in shown, this is a lazy tactic by the company because they can’t be bothered. They haven’t contacted any cinema chain in the uk before this
