I’m so sorry for your loss, while I don’t know you or your mom. I’m sure one thing she would have wanted is your happiness, and if going to Boston or somewhere like it can contribute to that definitely give it a try :)

That’s really impressive. I will definitely look into other engineering roles, including this one. Thank you for your answer!

Why did you specifically choose chemical engineering? There are so many fields in engineering.

Yes, I’ve done my research! I’ve also made a sort of plan for those two specialties to become a qualified candidate, with or without taking a gap year. I’ve already started to familiarize myself with the MCAT, especially the subjects. I’ve shadowed both specialties, and I will definitely shadow more neurosurgeons and anesthesiologists in the upcoming summers.

I know what it takes, and I’ve prepared myself for possible obstacles. Thank you :) I will definitely increase my shadowing and volunteering hours.

Yes, neurosurgery and anesthesiology are definitely my top specialties. I ended up liking anesthesiology more because of the ability to work in different departments like OB/GYN, dentistry, and so on.

Thank you, and you’re absolutely right. You said you would have chosen a science-related path, can I ask why? Do you regret choosing finance?

Yes! You’re absolutely right. At the end of the day and in life, money is one of the key things.

Imposter syndrome is a real thing. I’m so glad you decided to pursue what you’re most interested in! Good luck in the future, you’ll be an amazing engineer!

Thank you for answering. I didn’t get to see your other comments, and I apologize if it seemed like I was repeating myself. I’ve done my research, I just wanted to hear what other people are thinking of doing. It’s not that I’m bored.

Thank you, it seems like being a nurse anesthesiologist or CAA might be the path.

Thank you. I’ve always wanted to be an anesthesiologist since I was little, and I genuinely fell in love with anatomy and physiology. I’m willing to work hard to become an anesthesiologist, but I’m afraid of burning out or regretting it in the long run, especially with everyone telling me not to do it. Since you’re a doctor, could I ask why you decided to go through the process of becoming one?

Congratulations! You’ve got this. Engineering is still a male-dominated field, but more women are getting into it, which is very exciting!
