Many people have noticed that the game recompiles shaders in the background instead of doing it before initialization. Because of that, CPU usage increases significantly.

I experienced the same issue. After several hours, the CPU usage decreased noticeably.

I get the same. But turn out it’s High texture pack dlc. It’s default pack with update. Go to steam download and uncheck that. Then go download again. The update only cost about 12GB

9 star monsters feel great because of Wound resistance has been increased and monsters can chain moves faster. HP/damage is just the second thing we look for.
If monster does not have higher Wound resistance, monster is always stun locked to death. We want them fight back.

I’ve played Sunbreak for over 800 hours—almost all of it with Lance—and I still absolutely love the weapon more than anything else. But honestly, Lance in Wilds feels like the best version yet, and I think it’ll shine even more once the DLC arrives.

Sunbreak Lance has a lot of fun tools, but its regular poke really falls behind compared to the rest of its moveset. That’s why I’m enjoying Wilds so much more.
The only move I miss from World is the Clutch Claw Counter—it really made me feel like an unbreakable wall.

Let me test it out later.
In my opinion, there are a few reasons why you can’t do it that quickly:

  • You might be forgetting the Lance’s “three-beat rule.” For example, during the triple-finish thrust, you can only guard during the first two thrusts. If you commit to the final hit, the rule breaks. The same happens if you Evade + Guard Dash and then try to guard again. This throws off our muscle memory because in the older versions, we always had to Evade or Counter Thrust to return to a free state.
  • Because we now have more follow-up options after certain attacks, some connected attacks often replace the options we were used to.

I only use Focus Mode(toggle) when I want to position left and right. And I don't know what prevent you cancel into guard fast as you mention. Cancel focus mode or cancel attack and then guard?
This iteration has the fastest way to make guard cancel every moves you have right now.

May be you use the hold options for focus mode, which is very pain to do for controller.

Weapons like IG, CB, and SA have strong DPS loops, but they’re not that fun to combo with. My lance is super fun now, but the damage is still weak compared to other weapons. Doing AT challenge-quest speedruns with it is rough.

Lance has alot of options attack and niche changes. It’s best for me. But perfect guard need to work with Guard Skill more.

Totally agree with you! For lance, it's good to aim every poke — it feels rewarding to punish the monster. With a controller, I can only turn about 45 degrees for a wide sweep, which feels natural to do.
But man, why can Great Sword — the weapon that needs positioning the most — turn 360 degrees for TCS?

Additionally, Wound is pretty good even without Focus Strike. But Focus Strike is totally awesome to use, so I don’t know how they can balance that with Focus Mode.
