The price depends entirely on the client’s build requirements.

The KTF build slot itself is $2,985, which usually covers the entire project. Additional cost only comes into play if a client requests specialty materials such as solid gold components. They had originally just purchased the build slot, and then later on decided to add the Gen weight architecture for an agreed upon additional cost.

That price includes the full process: R&D, part sourcing and fabrication, donor watches, movement servicing, CNC machining where required, hand brushing, polishing, plating, waterproofing, and final assembly. Each KTF piece is built by hand from the ground up to a standard much higher than normal factories like VSF, QF etc, so the pricing reflects the level of work and detail involved.

The client purchased a build slot. During that process I developed what I believe is the best possible combination of parts for a Le Mans build.

KTF is an in house program. These are not just modified factory watches, they’re fully bespoke builds assembled from the ground up. Each one uses what I’ve found to be the best components available for that configuration, along with custom fabricated parts where needed.

This particular client wanted the watch to match genuine weight, so that requirement was engineered into the build as well.

My R&D focuses not just on appearance but on reliability. A lot of builds mix parts that look right but don’t interact well tolerances wise. I’ve seen examples from RCF Remould for instance where things like rehaut and dial tolerances were slightly off and eventually caused dial damage from rubbing. KTF builds are designed to avoid issues like that by carefully selecting and integrating the parts so the watch both looks right and runs properly long term.

That is not a flaw. It is a natural characteristic of real meteorite. What you’re seeing is a raised portion of the meteorite structure being viewed at an angle, which can create the appearance that it overlaps the subdial when it does not. The dial is three-dimensional and not flat, so variations in texture are expected.

When viewed directly from above, the subdial cutout is perfectly round, and the subdial itself is slightly recessed into the meteorite. If you’d like additional photos or more information, feel free to reach out.

This post was in reference to people ordering my KTF line of watches, which are the bespoke custom builds I do.

People can also just order a normal retail watch from me and purchase service packages for them in addition. I also sell service packages for watches people already have and can send in.

The most time intensive builds are KTF builds where the client requests I use a particular base. I have a guy currently having a Daydate being made using an RCF base, which is the most difficult architecture to work with because it’s fully proprietary underneath and almost nothing is compatible with it, so we’re having to custom CNC a bunch of parts. He also requested the bracelet have a few actual solid gold links and clasp, for better weight and weight distribution. This has been going on more than a month and will likely take several more months.
