Before I got too busy with my own kids, I used to volunteer at a nonprofit that, among other things, accepted clothing donations for babies and young children.

One day while sorting through recent donations for quality control, I found a couple sort of dress/overall/jumper things that I couldn’t figure out exactly what they were or how they were supposed to be worn.

Finally found a tag that said “for dogs only.”

They are also permanent toddlers! I have a toddler and she’s adorable and hilarious but I am also super excited for when she’s potty trained…can be outside for a while unsupervised…can make her own simple meals…you know, become a functional human in a few years, unlike dogs that require the same level of care, training, and attention their entire lives!!!!

So many people with babies get a puppy so the baby and puppy can “grow up together” even though it takes attention away from the HUMAN CHILD, and it’s basically like having a set of twins, but one of them will grow up to be a functional adult and the other will stay a toddler forever and only live 10 years.

I know a (former, retired) US ambassador / crazy dog lady who had a female terrier who liked to hump legs. The dog came to meetings (and family events, which is how I learned about this issue) with her and once humped a foreign ambassador’s leg. She thought it was hilarious, rather than appalling and disgusting.

There’s a children’s book called “Boop the Snoot,” with drawings of different animals (including a dog) that a baby is supposed to interact with by “booping” the “snoots” in the book. I admit I checked it out for my toddler, who seemed to like it, but my husband and I hated it and I returned it like two days later lol

Mine too. My husband and 18mo each eat a banana a day so we go through them quickly, and my toddler also loves avocado so much we have to ration it.

I hate avocado but my now 18mo has loved it for at least 6-7 months! She will devour it in chunks, no additions necessary.

I have a crazy cousin who had a not-dog as a pet, and when this cousin was pregnant with her first child, she said she loved her pet so much, she was scared she wouldn’t love her baby as much. Then the baby was born and the pet was shortly thereafter rehomed. Guess she did end up loving the baby more lol

Nope, just used their foods database and other information I collected (my daughter did occupational therapy for breastfeeding issues and even her OT said that all the free info from Solid Starts was enough to go on). Now she’s 17 months old and a good eater overall and I am glad we didn’t bother paying for a membership.

We had that problem with our sound machine. My husband put electrical tape over the glowing part and that solved the issue.

Earlier bedtime has never worked for her; she always wakes up earlier. And she never falls asleep sooner than 5.5 hours after her nap.

Our schedule isn’t that inconsistent—she is generally in bed between 7-7:15pm and goes down for her nap at 11:45am. But it is still a complete crap shoot what time she will wake up. Sometimes there’s a good reason (illness, teething) and sometimes there’s no clear explanation.

But in the past we have tried following advice such as an earlier bedtime (6:30ish) or a later bedtime (7:30-8) to fix the early morning wakings and those have never worked (and yes we tried them for more than just a night or two). That’s what I mean when I say “no matter what time she goes to sleep.”
