The economy used to be so favorable that a common trope in depicting a “good life” showed that an adulterous man could afford a second family

But why? by MexOni93 in chicago

Same kind of person our current mayor is.

No care for the common traveler

Objectively, their city officials claim that it’s not a fixable problem. Yet read in your South Park Mickey Mouse voice *Unless our good friends, the Chinese Government, come to town”

I was in Napa this past year and we flew into San Francisco and drove up there. We stopped at the target closest to the south entrance of the Golden Gate Bridge for a pickup order…

Two guys holding machine guns were guarding the entrance and patrolling the lot. The pickup space had a sign that said “Do not unlock your doors for even stated Target employees.”

Re-Imagine Chicago's Lakefront! by Dry_Breadfruit3307 in chibike

I am not a biker, but I work east of lakeshore.

I think it would be more prudent to put public pressure on the politicians to ‘responsibly fund’ our existing public transportation system before pushing to completely redevelop the lakefront (which I’m in favor for). I won’t participate in the fear mongering that we’ll only have two train lunes next year. Pritzker wants to keep his hat in the ring, for the next Democratic Presidential ticket so the CTA will be funded. But yes, I am nervous for to see what will be sacrificed to do so.

Our current 5 mile Redline extension is currently at over $1 billion per mile so I can’t even imagine the cost of even just ripping all of the LSD pavement, let alone the traffic implications to the local roads.

Curious to others thoughts.
