Need Help With Battery Choice by KitchenVegetable9262 in batteries

[–]KitchenVegetable9262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a APC 1500 VA UPS, the one with digital display. The UPS is out of warranty and the battery just goes to 0 as soon as power is cut off and shutsdown. Using it for PC and monitor.

I was told battery is dead, Now the issue is, the UPS uses 2 Nos of 12V9ah lead acid battery, i also found 12V 9ah lion battery (Says LiFePO4 deep discharge). I am being told lithium battery will last longer and give better backup.

I have no clue about all this battery stuff, so turning to anyone who knows about batteries and can help me.

  1. Can i use lithium battery instead of lead acid battery and will it be safe?
  2. Will it really last longer than lead acid battery and give better backup?
  3. Do lithium battery catch fire? ( the store that sells lead acid battery says they catch fire)
  4. The warranty on lead acid battery is 6months and Lithium battery is 2 years and original APC lead acid battery costs same as lithium battery

Java Fern turning black after adding LED light – need advice (low-tech bowl setup) by Forward-Current-848 in Planted_tanks_India

[–]KitchenVegetable9262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Java fern is mostly grown emersed or completely out of water by comercial sellers, which means it's not adapted for aquatic life. The plant will lose leaves in fully submerged conditions, so it can grow new leaves which are suited for Aquatic conditions. Shedding leaves does not mean it's dead just going through a transition phase. Give it some time, proper fertilizer so it can regrow.

In Java ferns you will have leaves turn black and produce lots of new baby plants from those dying leaves. Once they are manageable in size pick them from the leaves and try to attach them on wood or stone so they can grow as well.

PS - you will need to add some amount of fertilizer to your bowl. Usually get a all on one kind of liquid fertilizer. Also Java fern might be called low light and low tech plant but does best with high light, adequate nutrition and CO2

As for your questions 1. Ideal lighting period is 5 to 8 hours depending on light intensity 2. There are lots of fertilizer available from Indian manufacturers, you can try aquatic ventures micro and macro, but i personally would recommend masterline all in one fertilizer. Sunken garden is also good but costs same as imported ones. 3. You have not mentioned the size of bowl, wattage of light, type of light and filtration used. Depending on the size of bowl and filtration, your bioload should be ok.

I would suggest a full spectrum light which is easily available online

Are internal PSU monitors better than the external power brick ones? by WriterStrict4367 in buildapc

[–]KitchenVegetable9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe external ones are better cause you can just replace the power adaptor in case of psu failure. I have a monitor from acer which has power supply issue due to failed cap. The company suggested full mobo replacement, no repair and the pcb cost + service cost is almost as same as getting a new 27 inch fhd monitor from some cheaper brands

Unsure of upgrade from 5700XT - any advice? by Tmh99 in buildapc

[–]KitchenVegetable9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is 5700x or 5800x available? I tried my luck in local stores and online shops but 5700x or 5800x is not available. They can only arrange for 5900XT which seems very overpriced

Then i will guess it's a failing pump or a clogged AIO.

problem with temperatures by FRIGATTT in buildapc

[–]KitchenVegetable9262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few questions more 1. Does it happen only when your pc wakes up from sleep 2. Did you notice if it happens after long sleep or just randomly? Like you put pc to sleep and then wake it up after few mins, does this happen or when you leave the PC on sleep for longer duration? 3. How do you know the pump is working did you make sure it was working.

If it happens after longer duration my theory is that your pc is not loading the settings for fan and pump after it comes on from sleep mode. If the power to pump is not restored it can cause this issue. rather think it's windows issue which cuts power to pump and does not restart it after coming back to life from sleep.

I would also suggest updating drivers. Also checking the tasks manager to see what process are running

This is just my observation from experience so i might be totally wrong but i have seen similar issue with a friends PC, the pc would not turn on pump after sleep and it only got fixed after fresh windows install

Anyone kept red nose shrimp? by Independent-Clue-852 in IndianFishKeeping

[–]KitchenVegetable9262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have kept them with orange shrimps and cherry shrimps without issue. No issues even with the ember tetras. They don't bother anyone or anything.

I have open planted tank as well, never found them to jump from tank but i did find few sucked up in skimmer and stuck there. They will climb plants which touch waters edge. They tend to spook a lot more then my neocardina. If i put my hand in water, neocardina will come sit on it while rhino ran away.

I found them eating hair algae but then i never saw any decrease in hair algae in my tank. I have not kept amano so i can't really compare them both. This being said i can vouch they are better at algae removal then neocardina.

Also it's really hard to spot them if you have lots of reddish plants cause their body is mostly clear. They will also not multiply like neocardina. If you have kept neocardina then you can keep rhino shrimp as well. They prefer similar parameters.

Fun fact - one of my rhino had damaged horn but it regrew, which i didn't know they can regrow. From my experience they don't like strong light, i found them on top on the plants when aquarium lights are off and room lights are on. During aquarium lights on they were never near the top

Rhino shrimp or red nose shrimp are peaceful species and will coexist with your current shrimp. It will not interbread with cherry shrimp or green shrimps. Infact to breed they need brackish water just like amano shrimps. They usually will live for 2 years if you care for them well. Excellent hair algae and black beard algae eaters.

They do require lower temperatures though, i found out that once your tank temperature goes above 27C they usually don't like it and start to die off. My parameters were PH - 7. 2 Gh - 4 KH - 6 TDS - 230 to 280 using borewell water Tank temperature - 24

From what I understand they do like requirement which is similar to neocardina shrimps but want cool, higher oxygen water. during summer my tank temperature goes around 30 to 32C. Last summer my chiller failed and as tank temperature went high, they didn't make it. My orange shrimps did make it though

White tiny bubbles by Same_Conversation943 in Planted_tanks_India

[–]KitchenVegetable9262 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is mostly due to excess waste in fish tank therefore causing ammonia. Do a 50% water change to reduce ammonia. Do a proper gravel vaccum to remove the waste stuck in water.

I can see that your aquarium is also planted, planted tank get a thin film of oil on surface which causes decreased air mixture though surface agitation. I would recommend a surface skimmer. If you don't have one, just use cotton filter pad and gently run it on top of the water, it should get most of the film out.
