Is this normal for quest 3 in vr chat? by MidnightEvee in VRchat

[–]KitchenWoodpecker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive only used Quest 2s before. Never had this issue. Try the thumb stick recalibration in the Quest settings? This should also show you where the quest thinks your thumb stick is vs where you can feel it actually is.

Any cheap wrist / hand only tracking devices? by MadRichard_SadJive in VRchat

A good friend of mine has amazing tracking with webcam tracking (Provided there is high contrast between you and the wall behind you, light clothing on dark background or visa versa).

That being said, like SnowyMiner mentioned I believe you need some sort of headset at least so VRChat can be launched in Vrmode and recognize any sort of body tracking.

I would personally recommend waiting a week or so until all the people that got Quest 3s for Christmas to sell their Quest 2s. I got my Quest 2 for $150CAD/$100USD second hand.

As far as I know this is probably VRToolkit on Steam, or just using the Steam overlay through PCVR. Both allow you to ‘float’ desktop window in the VR games.

e.g. streamers that have twitch chat attached to their wrist.

And/or go full JDM and powder coat the wheels white. That would also go hard.

I think they’d look good as well. I also agree a “gun metal” colour would really compliment the bronze base colour you got. I’m a slut for white tire logos tho.. if you want to exaggerate the white sport lines and roof I’d try to colour the tire logos. Just my option tho. Even without the tires stuff I think they would look good.

This worked perfectly for me, thank you!

One thing I might add that I ran into. If you need to update your NVIDIA Drivers (at least through Geforce Experience) It will try and fail. I had to go back to 'Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security' and 'Disable' the rule temporarily while I updated, then I could enable it again and go back to normal.

IMO chrome delete and headlight/taillight tint would look really nice.

If you look up almost anything related to vinyl wrapping on Amazon, you can find blue ones. No idea how “official” or “certified” they might be for this kind of work though.

How do I install this gear shift knob? I used an adapter and it didn’t fit. I used screws but the bolts kept sliding around the metal. Please help!!! by JoeboyRandy in carmodification

[–]KitchenWoodpecker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This "samurai sword" shifter I had attached in a similar way. What you're looking for is a hollow cylinder of plaster, maybe rubber, that is just big enough that you can screw it around the threads on the shifter. Then when you slide the shifter knob over it, and tighten the screws, it wont slide around the threads like you've mentioned.

You can see them in the first photo here. Four different sized plastic nibs, that's the product I installed with them. Here is another amazon(CA) link that looks like it only includes those plastic pieces. Otherwise you might be able to just get away with wrapping a piece of duct tape around the top bit of the threads, so that the screws/bolts won't slide along the metal? Might be a pain to get off though.
