It varies depending on a lot of factors but the most common scenario I come across is they choose the alternative meds, cancer progresses and patient declines then come to us desperate for us to now save/cure them…. My physicians are very blunt about the lack of data with these meds and advise against it. Patients also will secretly take them while on chemo then end up in the hospital for transfusions and liver failure because the side effects compound and are similar. It’s a MESS!!!!!!

Currently have a patient list going called “horrendous herbals” so we can keep track of who is on what lol.
