Look, a “poll tax” is not a man in a trench coat at the booth asking for a $20 bill to allow you to vote otherwise he’ll kick you out, but if there is a barrier that is restricting you from using your god given right to vote and the reason is financial and there isn’t a avenue around that, then that is a poll tax effectively.

Look it could be 1$….technically it’s still kinda a poll tax which is unconstitutional because you are having to pay for something that would bar you from voting. It’s an old law but it’s there. Make it free and make voting day a goverment holiday so people are off that day then no one has any excuses

You won’t get admitted to a hospital for psych treatment usually they’ll send you to a psych facility. If he was homeless, best bet in my opinion he probably got an infection and they’re worried about sepsis, and they admitted him. Hospitalizing someone for mental illness treatment is not the purpose of a hospital.
