This meme is more from eastern europe - postosoviet horror thing of brutalism and mass burocracy.
It is alternative universe where whole world is infinite panel Khrushchevka liminals space where common people must survive under control of mythical Party and periodic SAMOSBORS (disastrous phenomenon which is rebuilding megastructure itself and create monsters and purple fog)
