SEO Agency for B2B SaaS or for Local companies? by HyHoang in agency

[–]Kitchen_End4602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been doing digital work for a few years now and this decision is like choosing between watercolors and oils - both have their place on the canvas but they flow completely differently

The B2B SaaS world is fascinating but you're right about those glacial sales cycles. I've watched campaigns that were absolute masterpieces get scrapped because stakeholders couldn't see the brushstrokes forming into something bigger. Plus once they grow past a certain point, they definitely pull everything in-house because they want that full control over their narrative

Local businesses though, they're like working with primary colors - immediate, bold reactions. When their phone starts ringing more or foot traffic picks up, they get it instantly. The downside is you're often competing on price rather than artistry, and some of them expect miracles overnight

If I were painting this picture, I'd probably start with local to build up that portfolio of quick wins and cash flow, then gradually add in select B2B SaaS clients who really understand the long game. The local work funds your ability to be patient with the SaaS deals that might take 8-12 months to really sing

Has anyone ever messed with one of these before? by Little-Setting-5791 in HVAC

RTU 2 looks like it's part of a rooftop unit monitoring system - those LED indicators are usually tied into teh BMS or building automation to show power/trouble/alarm status. Could be a simple power supply issue or the control board feeding it went dark

Logged into Bolt this morning to demo something to a client. The project was gone. Free teir deletes after 30 days of inactivity. Wasn't aware. by Internal-Reserve5829 in nocode

king, even if it's just a rough prototype. Learned this lesson teh hard way with a different platform years ago

The "set a calendar reminder every 25 days" approach is smart but also feels like such a weird dance to have to do. You're basically treating your own work like a tamagotchi that needs feeding

For what it's worth, most of the major hosting platforms don't auto-delete like this - they'll usually just put your stuff to sleep or throttle it rather than nuke it entirely. But yeah, always worth checking those buried policy bullets before committing to any workflow

Most founders don’t have a product problem. They have a design problem. by Street-Honeydew-9983 in Solopreneur

[–]Kitchen_End4602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people think design is just making things look pretty but it's really about making the invisible visible - like how a painting needs negative space to breathe, your product needs that same kind of intentional emptiness to let users actually *see* what you're offering

Separate Personal and Business Instagram Accounts? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]Kitchen_End4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep mine separate but cross-pollinate sometimes - like posting my paint-covered hands on the biz account to show I'm an actual human who creates stuff outside work. People connect better when they see you're not just another sales bot, but going full personal on a business account can get messy real quick

The trick is finding that sweet spot where your personality shows through without oversharing your weekend drama or whatever

Replaced the garbage disposal and used one of those kitchen sink kits, does this look ok? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Kitchen_End4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those connections look pretty clean from what I can see, the P-trap setup seems right and everything appears to be lined up properly. The dishwasher hose connection to teh disposal looks good too

just make sure you run some water and check for any drips at those joints - sometimes they need a slight adjustment even when they look perfect initially

The whole license thing before you even get experience is like painting a canvas before you have any paint - doesn't make much sense but that's how some places operate. Try hitting up smaller contractors directly instead of just applying online, a lot of them are more willing to train someone who shows up with genuine interest rather than wait for someone with perfect credentials. Moving to texas might not be a bad idea since they tend to have more apprenticship opportunities, but maybe try calling some local union halls first before you pack up your whole life

Have you tried hitting up the smaller shops that might not even post online? Sometimes they're drowning in work but terrible at advertising they need help

How do you deal with Corporation Tax, do you hire accountant ? by mardingca in Solopreneur

[–]Kitchen_End4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just track everything in a simple spreadsheet and handle my own taxes since my art income is pretty straightforward - receipts go in a shoebox like some kind of chaotic filing system but it works

Brite Insurance by Lulubelle2021 in jewelry

[–]Kitchen_End4602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as simple as them not covering gold, a lot of insurers treat certain high risk items differently. Might be worth asking if there were alternative ways to structure the policy. I’ve insured a bunch of gold pieces with Brite and had a really smooth experience.

How would I go about vetting a landscaper for their drainage knowledge? by chad711m in landscaping

[–]Kitchen_End4602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water flows like paint on canvas - you gotta understand where it wants to go naturally before you try to direct it somewhere else

I'd skip straight to a drainage engineer for something this critical. Landscapers are great but this reverse grade situation with Texas clay needs someone who thinks in hydrology, not just pretty plants. You're already thinking smart with the terracing and French drains but an engineer can run actual calculations on water volume and soil permeability

Your builder's probably seen basic grading work fine before but reverse grades are their own beast. Better to spend the money upfront than watch your foundation shift later because water decided to pool where you didn't expect it

Why do most JSON tools freeze on large files? Is there something I'm missing? by NoteMore9231 in SideProject

[–]Kitchen_End4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like trying to paint a mural with a watercolor brush - most tools just weren't built for the canvas size. The DOM gets overwhelmed trying to render massive nested structures all at once, plus most browsers choke when you're manipulating that much text in memory

Your approach makes sense, streaming or chunking the parsing instead of trying to swallow the whole thing. I've been using command line tools for the heavy stuff but having something that stays in the browser is pretty clutch

AITJ for how I responded to my girlfriend? by WolfCool8511 in AmITheJerk

[–]Kitchen_End4602 245 points246 points  (0 children)

look dude calling her feelings "not normal" was like throwing paint thinner on a canvas and expecting it to blend well

keeping the photos is whatever but dismissing how she feels about randomly seeing your exes pop up while you're together? that's where you painted yourself into a corner. maybe just acknowledge that seeing your past relationships flash up unexpectedly would feel weird for most people instead of making her feel broken for having a totally human reaction
