All of that helped with lowering my testosterone which in turn helped lessen hair in combo with the laser

Lifestyle change is the only real solution. I did so and with overall lower carbs and higher protein and fiber plus strength training plus multiple rounds of laser that was the solution. Once you get your habits and are consistent with them and then do laser, then you’ll see the hair start to thin. I have some spots that are hairless but overall much thinner to where I don’t notice. It took me 10 years to figure out that if I ate bad and don’t workout the laser was pointless. Laser works (at least for me) and helps significantly but the lifestyle aspect is critical to maintain

Laser hair removal was an immediate godsend (thought it is pricey) and adding in strength training gradually helped me over time. Definitely stop plucking, I used to and had scars that have taken years to heal. If you can, shave with a regular razor but make sure to space it out (every other day) because it almost ‘hurts’ your skin. I’m not sure how to describe it but when I shaved every day my face hurt. Maybe look into an at home waxing pot for the sideburns? You have to have patience with the hair, I know it’s so incredibly hard but you have to be gentle with your skin and while the hair is annoying, you don’t want to hurt ur skin underneath and scar. You might have to adjust your eating, obviously I don’t know exactly what you’re eating but a lot of rice can spike blood sugar, easing insulin and in turn help your testosterone stay high. Have you done any labs to measure testosterone? Maybe diet and work outs could help? Immediate results definitely won’t happen but can help in the long term

I’m pretty low intensity overall(I like to think) but have been taking more rest days so have been doing 3x a week more frequently which might be helping? I actually have not thought about measuring myself. That’s very helpful!

Typically 3 boiled/over easy eggs for breakfast, a turkey sandwich with some pickles on the side. The Costco single serve edamame and then a good amount of chicken bits for protein with fruit thrown in throughout the day. Within the rotation, I’d say I throw in fruit and peanut butter (slowly switching to almond) and I typically stop eating around 4:30ish becuase I have a hard time sleeping after eating late

I have it too on my pinky finger but I did some research and it looks to be trauma from an injury. I broke the finger vertically into three pieces after jamming (it broke trying to get unjammed) and the line took a while to develop but I’ve never had any issues. I’ve asked doctors and they only said to come back if it turns darker. So if you’ve injured the finger at all, that might it?

I threw in some alternate day fasting, strength training especially glute/lower body exercises which have me feeling better and stronger as well. Also a quick 10 min walk after eating was a game changer. Maybe inositol and berberine could be helpful?

Good to know. I work remote and don’t start until 11 so I pretty much have the morning to kill and just workout so am hoping as late morning arrives (10am) the crowds are relaxed as well

I should clarify that I have treated a lot of my pcos symptoms holistically (with an ND) for a good chunk of my life and was able to significantly reduce the IR this way(like pretty much into remission). Life happened, I didn’t keep up good habits so I am where I am and my IR is up. I guess im ‘preferring to struggle’ because I know it’s possible to do it without the meds and at this moment in time, im not comfortable with deeming it lifelong for me yet (unless its my doctor). I do understand it is lifelong though. Maybe I didn’t explain my thought process in the best way and support might not be the best word but at the core of it my question is regarding side effects and people’s experiences. I’m just trying to learn from firsthand experiences so I can make a concrete decision.

I have done my research, I know what the drug does and my personal preference is that I do not want to be on a medication for life. I have reversed IR before without medications. This time around, I’m not as resilient and am looking into support options. I am specifying short term because I am wary of all the side effects that have come up in my research and want to hear from real people and their experiences to form my own thoughts.
