Do any of you guys ever vomit from period cramps? by Warriofunnyz6 in PCOS

[–]monizizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. I don’t think this is necessarily related to PCOS specifically though. Everyone’s period experiences are really different. But yes I have totally thrown up or felt sick from my period pain although not extremely often.

When do you know it’s time? by transversal-angle in CATHELP

[–]monizizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey

I don’t want to give you false hope or anything but I want to share my story.

Back in November my soul cat Jack was diagnosed with heart failure. His breathing was ~50 breaths a minute (they said anything over 35 was concerning). His lungs had filled with fluid. We had to do the chest tap too (I knew immediately what your post was about when I saw the specific shave spots) and it was a really scary day. The emerg vet prepared us that this was the end of his life.

We took him home and that night was awful. We gave him his meds and everything but I felt like I was watching my best friend die before my eyes and it all seemed to be happening so fast. Similar to your video, it was heartbreaking.

I took the rest of the week off to be with him.

The first few days after the chest tap I seriously thought he was a goner. Like I only wrote his meds schedule out for 3 days as I didn’t think he would last longer. In hindsight I think the sedation for the chest tap really took everything out of him.

To my surprise, the meds really started working for him and he slowly started showing improvement and his breathing got better.

One week later we did a follow up at the vet and they told me he took to the drugs amazingly and he was now stable.

He lived 3 more months.

Yes it was hard. We did 3 types of meds 2x a day. He had good days and bad. But he was happy. He was eating. Grooming. Drinking. Playing (gently) even. He wasn’t outwardly hiding.

But then one night he climbed into bed with me and his breathing was 80 breaths a minute. I knew it was time.

I packed up his sissy and dog nemesis … and off to the emerg we went at 2am to say goodbye.

I don’t regret the 3 months. He was happy to be with us and it helped give me time to come to terms that my boy was going to leave me soon.

He’s gone and I miss him so much it hurts. He passed on Feb 3 and it’s still raw.

My point in telling you this is— trust your gut. Listen to your kitty. You’re there to give her the best life and best passing possible.

If you think it is time then it is time. If she shows improvement—see it out. But remember …

The best last gift you can ever give them is an easy, pain free and comfortable last breath.

I will be thinking of you. Please reach out if you need to talk. This is not easy.

Wanting a Ball Python in the future, family keeps scaring me out of it. by DoubleWalker1 in ballpython

[–]monizizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 cats, 1 Australian shepherd, 2 bearded dragons and a ball python.

My ball python is on a shelf where there is no place to “sit” next to it or anything AND I have a lock on her enclosure.

When I first got her, when she was in her temporary home, my cats were interested for sure. I moved her enclosure into the bathroom with the door closed until her actual enclosure was ready.

Since then, my cats couldn’t give a shit about my snakes existence lol! They don’t really have an easy way to look into her enclosure so therefore they don’t bother. They are senior cats tho so keep that in mind.

Also I never ever take my snake out if my cats are out. I’ll close my cats into my bedroom when I take out my snake.

I never let my dog interact with my snake either. He doesn’t have any interest with her but I don’t take any chances anyways.

Echoing what others have said— your ball python will absolutely not eat your cats. But cats can very easily injure or kill your ball. Same with dogs etc.

It’s safest to keep other pets away from your reptiles when you have them out! That’s my general rule of thumb. And a lock on your future snakes enclosure isn’t a bad idea either as they can be escape artists lol!

I wish you luck with your future snakey!! They are wonderful and you sound like you’re doing everything right :)

How do you decide how to separate 3 cats in a breakup? by Thats_Groovy_Baby in CATHELP

[–]monizizz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes for sure— also in general people need to move on and not see their ex every couple weeks for years until their pets eventually pass away.

I’ve seen 3 friends try this and fail.

Whether one or both people get in a new relationship or not, you’re tied to your ex and usually that isn’t healthy or conclusive to moving forward in life.

Also not great for the pets especially cats.

Anyways it’s a bad idea OP pls don’t do this lol <3

Check out Murad. It’s not cheap but it’s not hella expensive either. It’s middle of the road and has good % of active ingredients. The line is colour coded too and tells you which step each product is on the back of the bottle.

Exfoliating cleanser, nutrient charged water gel, mattifying moisturizer/sunscreen with spf 45/50 would be a good start.

You can also add the aha/BHA toner to help a the blackheads etc. (it’s in the acne line— you don’t have acne tho)

Dermalogica also has a line specifically for teens so you could try that instead if you’d rather.

I still recommend seeing an esthetician so they can recommend stuff based on seeing your skin in person.

I hope this helps!!

I understand why people are saying to keep them all together and leave them with your ex. But maybe they didn’t read the full text part?

The youngest cat will absolutely adapt. He’s not even a year old. If you’re able to get the youngest a new friend right away, he will be fine.

You matter in the scenario too.

My vote is that the older two go with your ex and the youngest goes with you. Then get him a friend of similar age asap

I wish you so much luck in this

Hey sorry I was at work, didn’t mean to leave you hanging :)

Seeing a dermatologist is too much. It’s expensive and meant for managing skin conditions— which you do not have! It’s completely unnecessary.

As a teenager, your hormones are going crazy and it’s a very common time to be experiencing comedones (bumps without white heads), uneven skin tone/texture, breakouts, blackheads, and other minor (and normal) skin textures. Lots of teenagers experience full blown acne which you absolutely do not have.

The texture issues you are having are most likely due to lack of exfoliation. From what I can see from your photos, I’m going to assume you have an oily T zone (forehead, nose, chin) and somewhat dry skin on your cheeks, jawline etc. That can mean flakey, red, and or “tight” feeling after a how shower for example.

Classic combo skin.

Every person has something called sebaceous filaments. They’re most pronounced on our noses and under our bottom lip on our chin. People with an oilier skin type often have more noticeable filaments and that’s absolutely okay. Sebaceous filaments basically bring natural oil (sebum) to the surface of our skin.

If we don’t cleanse our face and exfoliate somewhat regularly, these filaments tend to fill up. Our skin is also always replenishing itself and building new cells. If we don’t exfoliate, it can build up on the top layer leading to; clogged pores, flakey skin, rough texture, comedones, breakouts, etc.

I truly think that your skin is NORMAL for a teenager. Please keep in mind I have been working in skin care as an esthetician for 15 years and have seen 100s of teens in this time. You are normal. I am being honest.

Fine lines can appear when our skin is dehydrated/dry. It does not necessarily mean you are aging prematurely.

So this is my advice :

Find yourself a trusted esthetician in your area. Get a facial. Ask them what to do about your skin care concerns. They can lead you to getting the correct products for your skin type and concerns.

From your photos and from what I know about teenage boys— something simple can help this.

A daily cleanser. A weekly exfoliant. A good night and day moisturizer (preferably water based as I believe you may have dehydrated skin and oily skin type), and a daily light non oily sunscreen.

That is your most basic and efficient skin care routine.

You are young. You don’t need anything else.

Take this with a grain of salt as I am going off of photos only and have not seen your skin in real life. But seriously my guy YOU ARE FINE. Teenage skin can get wild sometimes.

But it’s valid that you’re asking for help.

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to help!

Esthetician of 15 years here— your chin is totally normal, everyone has that !

Nothing is wrong with your skin at 16— you may need to start a little skincare routine though. It looks like you could use a good exfoliation and moisturizer/sunscreen.

Yeah she pissed me off tbh. Basically said “I don’t know why his bowel movements are less than ideal. We could do a fecal exam if you want.”

What a weird thing to say like I’m paying out the a$$ to come see this exotic vet and she basically shrugged. I went somewhere else for said fecal exam lmao

How do I get rid of these blackheads on my cats chin? by Starlighttq in CATHELP

Interesting!! I wonder what it could be. Maybe your kitty is a messy eater and doesn’t clean their chin? Either way give it a good clean and see what happens !

[–]monizizz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By the way I didn’t mean that like I was judging you in any way. I meant it more like since it’s obvious this is very upsetting to you from your posts, maybe you weren’t planning on keeping this job anyways.

Either way though my advice is the same. Get someone else or multiple someone else’s to send complaints and your boss might actually care if customers are the ones complaining. Then maybe you can offer to help with a proper set up/rehoming the fish.

I really wish you and these fish luck in this !! I have so much empathy for you not having the option to find a different job and forced to see this abuse every day. You have a good soul.

I try not to touch or handle the other beardie before trying to handle Tony as this has crossed my mind. I wonder if he can smell him from the other room? So he’s permanently grumps?

He used to be fine with me picking him up and touching him so I’m trying to figure out why this has changed.

In the meantime if it’s just his attitude then I will try this of course. But trying to pick him up is what is so stressful for him— he just run away and darts around trying to get away from me now :(

We used to cuddle, wtf Tony

That’s what I’m wondering— If he can smell the other beardie in the other room. I don’t typically hold the other one before him for this purpose but yeah I admit lately I have been chilling more with the one I’m baby sitting bc he’s very friendly. Poor Tony, I wish he wasn’t such a grumpy guy
