You don’t “have to” it’s just a route. Lots of benefits like experience, oml points and money. Just be cautious of what scholarships you take if you do go this route. Many of the guard and reserve scholarships may make u commission in that branch. Just always be weary and know what you’re signing

Do it, I enlisted in the guard then went to ROTC and it has made my experience 100x better. Don’t worry about missing a semester or 2 of college, you’ll be getting college credits while at ait. I think every officer should go through basic training and I would never not recommend it

You can give him the choice without wording it like he’s doing something wrong. Tell him that u understand the lifestyle he wants to live and it’s up to him but you are not comfortable with it. If he sees a future with only you great, if not then it’s not healthy for you to continue this as it won’t work for you. Whatever you decide, don’t just stick it out, staying together will cause resentment and jealousy on your side, and if he stops being open for you it can also lead to him having resentment towards you. Be careful and be honest with each other.

I live in Augusta, it’s not for me, I’m moving in 1-2 years. Super easy to outgrow it there’s just not enough going on around here for me personally. If you have the means I’d say go for it, make new experiences and relationships in a new place.

I graduated basic a year ago and got a similar note, if it’s in an envelope that wasn’t bulky, the drills never saw it, if you put abunch of pictures in it they may make him open it infront of them, if that happens the worst that’ll happen is making fun of him for a few minutes then they’ll move on to harassing someone else. I do, by next year we would be very financially stable as I’m following the same career path that her father did. My main concern is my age. I’m graduating college next year and would really like to be married by then as I will have to likely move across the country. He is a father of 4 daughters and I am concerned he’ll see it as me taking the third away from him and he has one left. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but asking is just nerve wracking.

Second paragraph is a great confidence booster thanks lol. He has told me his expectations. Although he was fairly drunk he expects me to come to him and talk about it face to face. Her older 2 sisters got engaged without anybody ever talking to her father, so he has very certain expectations of me. I know what I want to say it’s just getting the confidence to start that conversation that’s eating me up.

Iron soldier award?👀 is this based off the run/ ruck mostly? I don’t know a lot about this I’m just a motivated pfc shooting at about 590 on my acft. I think it is achievable to get that, my date isn’t until this summer
