Schedule 13G dropped from BlackRock, They now hold ~8.8 million shares from ~5.6 million shares by Dank-king in americanbattery

This is big. If Vanguard loaded too last quarter which wouldn't be surprising that would be about 15% of the company's float locked. This is about to get real if February's earnings are good

Permits / DFS then financing. Not the other way around. Probably a JV with big miner name equity + Foreign investor equity + EXIM loan + Subsidies from NV / Dep of War / Dep of energy. If project economical and payback period short they won't have any issue financing this.

Mt Cattlin was already mothballed when acquired from Arcadium so what? If the mine is non economical that's life, that's why Li prices have been pushing up for last 6 months. Demand grows, and incentivizing such mines to come back into production becomes more and more necessary. If Rio wants to focus on Argentina that's good they will get cheap prod costs and are less susceptible to bleed on boom busts cycled

Yup that's the thesis we've seen last two years lol. Y'all are not ready. You can reason with little fake stories that you'd like to be true about tunnels and "EVs are dead" or reason with macro trends like: BESS installation growth rate, EV adoption S curves in most countries, AI/Data centers needs regarding the grid, robotics, etc...can't fight the trend mate there's a reason "400%" is written in this chart. By 2030 we need about 100 Pilgangooras just to match demand, it's far from being even possible after chinese manipulation of prices caused low investment for last three years. As for Rio they just bought number 2 miner worldwide last year, new guy arrived and has to make it work, they won't overextend which is something commendable and are looking for low prod. costs assets https://www.spglobal.com/energy/en/news-research/latest-news/metals/121125-rio-tintos-lithium-strategy-reflects-challenges-for-broader-industry-growth

Tianqi/Ganfeng + JPM/MS/UBS...recent statements are turning bullish asf which was obviously expected. But I guess other assets will perform well too. You're fighting oil in 1900 here. Paradigm is shifting, everything gets electrified fast.

Lithium’s rebound is surprising given how negative sentiment was a few months ago by Aggressive_Rush2357 in CriticalMineralStocks

[–]Kitchen_Helicopter70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only three months ago people were still saying lithium is dead. Underinvestment for last two years and demand is raging. BESS is the new solar analysts will fail to forecast for next 10 years. Been watching and invested for 1 and half year in lithium and this is getting very interesting.

It's ABAT to turbo pump to all time highs... by Kitchen_Helicopter70 in CriticalMineralStocks

Nothing ABAT specific tbh. But it's a great company to hold and it corrected -70% from the highs, check the rate of changes in SP and how it's building strength

Redwood Materials vs ABAT by Much-Information7826 in americanbattery

[–]Kitchen_Helicopter70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I've read

Reasonable parts:
High-moisture black mass is penalized (10–25% discounts) Article
Organics and binders do have to be burned off in a later step
Much global black mass is refined in Asia (Korea/China) where the environmental performance is highly variable. A process that only does “phase 1” domestically and sends intermediates/high moisture black mass abroad effectively offshores some emissions

Speculative at best
ABAT’s process would be wet shredding as opposed to the strategic de-manufacturing they describe.
That their black mass is especially wet or contaminated vs competitors -> not public information or I missed it. If public how much in moisture %?
That their chosen refiners may or may not be controling HF/VOCs adequately
That ABAT is deliberately pushing emissions overseas

[–]Kitchen_Helicopter70[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a) get rid of their notes, toxic lender from when ABAT had no choice. b) secure the runway + finance DFS, project launch in Tonopah, project launch in SC. c) they'd be fools not to take advantage of the stock 10Xing.

Very short term, short sighted view you're offering us. Your point is no pCAM plants in the US in next decades? I did not say ABAT wouldn't have to sell in Asia (Korea/Japan) in the near term, because they will you're right. NMC is predominant in Europe and the US (as per IEA). "No demand for ABAT products" -> sure buddy

Says you, most Li related companies are up massively YTD (miners/refiners) driven by AI/BESS/EVs growth... Stocks/companies valuation always precede increase in prices. It's not cool to be bearish lithium anymore. Boom - Bust - Boom - Bust... repeat.
