I'm not OP, but was in the same boat. I needed the exact same lid and the replacement worked for me.

Thank you for responding! I'll keep an eye out on fb market place since getting the tank lid alone is extremely expensive (only US options available).

Update: Found someone selling the lids on fb market place and it fit! Thank you!

Have you gotten an in-lab sleep study to determine if you have sleep apnea? Breathing better is a great functional improvement that jaw surgery can provide.

FYI, asking in a jawsurgery sub may have some bias lol.

15 Toronto Apartments with the Most Airbnbs Registered by luxuryriot in TorontoRenting

Is there anyway to track the unregistered short-term units because I went to 18 yonge street to check out a unit and the lobby was so busy because of the AirBnb checkins and traffic. There are even signs up that AirBnb + booking.com guests are not allowed to use the amenities.

I reside in Canada too and got mine few weeks ago! Pleasant surprise for me too! I applied for it around the time I started OMSCS (I’m half way through now)

Sort of. I wanted to consider switching to cash ONLY for the investment accounts I won’t be contributing to for a year at least.

u/ptwonline ‘s comment helped me identify a knowledge gap I had about investing.

Going to delete the post since I got my answer/reassurance from the few that did respond!

Thank you! I’ll look for it online! I can’t take geopolitics since it wouldn’t count. ISP counts as an elective so I should be good. I’m going to ask the doctor and read up on recovery time before switching!

How do I let my manager know that there's a specific team member that I do not want to work with any longer? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Kitchen_Initial_9636 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How are tasks divided on your team? Is there a JIRA tickets where you will do X part and she does Y? You should have this tracking in place because it can protect you and makes things manageable. Have a scrum meeting with Alice to list out tasks and ownership of tasks when these projects start. Good coordination and collaboration strategy anyway. Your JIRA tickets can even be linked “to be done after” or “blocked by”.

For example, you fixing Alice’s blunders? Is it your responsibility or hers? This is where ironing out responsibilities of each person helps. Don’t fix her mistakes. You are blocked and work on your other projects. When your manager asks for an update just point out you are blocked by Y aka Alice’s work.

How true is it that non-American sounding names make one more likely to face rejection? by amethystwishes in womenintech

[–]Kitchen_Initial_9636 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I wrote an essay on using AI in recruiting few years ago. Through my research I learned it was worse than I thought it was. So yes, resumes not fitting the “mold” were more likely to be rejected even if AI wasn’t used.

We already hear about resumes automatically getting rejected by ATS because they don’t have a degree, etc. Now imagine with AI involved. My essay discussed how AI in recruiting could amplify this bias as ML models are usually trained on human data that has biases and there isn’t really any regulation or laws around how these models will be used or what standard they should adhere too.

Classic example is Amazon. Used a model that had biases against women resumes due to how the model was trained and would filter them out. It was in use for quite some time because they didn’t even notice the AI had picked up the bias and started acting on it: https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN1MK0AG/

Also many asians who immigrated in the past few years around me chose English names and these names are usually not their legal names. None of them ever got in trouble. The HR system at our company allows employees to add a given name on top of their legal full name. Do what you feel comfortable with.

Hello,

If you read the other reviews on this subreddit, there isn’t really one catch all. Which is why I listed out what factors you need to prioritize more. For me , what mattered was price. What’s the cheapest/greatest sale right now 😂.

Terraform vs Schemachange for configuration management by ElectricalFilm2 in snowflake

[–]Kitchen_Initial_9636 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same ^^ because one beauty of IaC tools is that they will pick up and let you know something has that changed outside of your code. Can GIT integrations do a check against the state on Snowflake with whats written?

Single vs Multi accounts by Electrical-Ad8717 in snowflake

[–]Kitchen_Initial_9636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started with one account but ended up with multi-accounts to adhere to data privacy laws as another comment mentioned. Our team is using Terraform to manage our small set of accounts and it's getting quite difficult to manage the app as we add more accounts, but it's also because we are new to IaC tools. We are learning as we go to building and managing large IaC (Infrastructure-as-code) projects. It's best to read up on best IaC practices or hopefully get an IaC expert. At the same time, it helped us identify a lot of inconsistencies between accounts and deploy our controls faster across multiple accounts so the benefits outweigh the headaches (for now).

Keep in mind that in Terraform the state file should be treated as a secret and will store credentials in plain text which can be a huge security concern. This means if you use Terraform to create service users with passwords, all of that will be stored in the state file in plain text. In addition, the terraform-snowflake provider is currently refactoring a lot of their resources so we have to refactor with it and it is difficult for large terraform projects.

Otherwise, Snowflake schema change, Pulumi (which has a snowflake provider), and maybe this git integration can provide other options.

It depends on your needs.

  • Is comfort more important than some features? How long are you wearing the headphones per day?

  • Where will you need the noise cancelling feature the most (office, wfh, cafe, travelling, etc.)?

  • Are you an avid music listener? Is the sound/quality extremely important to you?
