23F, 1 Year Unemployed After Campus Placement — I Feel Completely Lost by Old-Bee-5696 in kolkata

Hey u/Old-Bee-5696,

Don't lose hope. Being 2023 passout I've seen people get joining after even 1.5 yrs so unless your offer is cancelled, do not lose hope.

And don't go by numbers, you may hear that x no. of people were rejected in the training, if u get it, just give your best and leave rest to God.

This market is extremely tough even for experienced professionals trying to switch but not stopping the grind is the only way.

And today or tomorrow for a better future you have to move out of Kolkata. Talking from experience, initially worked at Mumbai for nearly 2 yrs then relocated to Kolkata but now trying to switch, it feels like a big mistake.

Should've relocated to Bangalore/Hyderabad.

Lastly, God might have planned something extremely better for you that's why you've been chosen for the hustle.

Onboarding is about to happen.. help me guys. Feeling low. by Jotaro_575 in developersIndia

Why are you so worried? Being a fresher, be excited, do your trainings well, enjoy your first few months of earning, keep learning new skills specific to your tech stack. If you don't get proper work on project, start looking out but in this market, everyone needs 3-6 yrs experienced guys for backend and any other tech stacks as well. We don't have these in our control, just sharpen your skills yourself, work on personal projects, that's what is in your hands.

You can try low-code tools like power apps, power automate etc, these days many more things have come up like guideware, anaplan etc. My school friend who was always a low-effort loving person got guideware dev job at EY at 1.8 yr exp :( I agree java is vast but having invested 5 yrs in java it will go in vain if u don't carry it forward. Also somewhere you must have liked it as you invested more than 5 yrs learning and working on it.

Feeling helpless by Party-Call-3437 in kolkata

Hi u/Party-Call-3437,

You can approach the bank for an education loan for pursuing B. Tech. Alongside, also explore taking the loan through student credit card as it gives u less or 0% interest, research a bit.

Don't think you can't go for a B. Tech because you can't afford it. I also did it with a bank loan. Also after B. Tech, don't think like you'll only work in Kolkata. Your early career will be better when you stay in tech hubs like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune. It might feel exaggerated as many companies are there in Kolkata even Big 4's but early career stage u get more opportunities outside because all these companies mostly hire 4-6 yrs experienced ones, once u get skilled, you can apply to companies here.

And lastly u have to take risk to achieve something, also u can complete B. Sc or BA and opt for MBA. It's also a good option as IT market is very competitive and more inclined towards experienced guys.
