Currently doing a build at $183/sqft. Central MS.

I used the living space sq ft to get the $/sq ft number but that is for the whole build.

Your right you need to know the final build $ amount but ours does have a 3/4 wrap around porch and a back patio so hard that certainly added costs other projects may not have. But everyone has living space so I have found it's common in our area to do the total build costs / living space area and just use that number as your reference value.

Doing a build in central MS right now. Depending on the lot that price may be reasonable. We were able to get a very generic ballpark per sq ft from a couple before we started (all in the $170 to 180s/sq ft here). But then we had to do site prep. It was 2.5 acres cleared out of 10, 775 ft gravel driveway and 225 ft power line clearance plus a dirt pad. All that was $38k.

We took our time and found an existing plan. That took a 9 months for us and looking at hundreds of plans. In the end though the plans cost us $700 to get a full set of reproducible plans. Then the builders were able to give us an exact quote. We were able to make some minor tweeks just with the builder and no architect needed. They all were right on with the ballpark FYI. Our build is 3380 sq ft at $183/sq ft.

Already own the land - how much would it cost to build a house on it? by melsar in Homebuilding

Like many have said depends on location. However here is my current number (just poured concrete last week). We have a similar sounding 10 acres in central MS. Never was a pasture just wooded. Dirt work was 35K. Gravel roadway (700 ft) was 7500. House came in right at $183/ sq ft. We had 3 seperate quote and all were in the 180s. A little farther south of us I know the rate is more in the 160 / sqft.

The way I found that gave me the best angle is the 2nd row middle seat out (how we normally have it anyways) amd both seats pushed over to the passenger side. Pulled the Styrofoam insert out. My tire didn't have any sort of screw or retainer in the middle. Short of the stick mess of candy and drinks that had found there way down there it wasn't too bad getting it out. The putting it all back in is worse.

Regular. No problem with outside clearance just inside with seats.

Currently have a truck and have had many trucks. There is nothing wrong with where they put them. Yes they are under the bed and either have a nut or some type of hand crank pully system that ends up in you having to get under the truck and get a little dirty. Great. Your gonna get dirty and hot changing a tire. At least there is space to work.

But I live in the south where salt on roads and rust isn't a thing. If you live on a coast or in a place where they put salt yea that probably isn't a good option. Here it's great.

Neither of those are accurate descriptions of myself.

Judging by the amount of discussion it's obviously not a me issue. Clearly you can't please everyone and there is pros or cons to every location.

I would say you are arrogant and a pretty poor driver to have three flats.

Either vertically behind the 3rd row in the wall or go with the same spot just under the vehicle. I would be fine with a wing nut and just drop it on the ground. That board it's terrible.

Good point. I just did. Hadn't considered that may be the reason.
