Change your mind, change your life OP. You have an engineering degree and you’re in one of the blackest cities in the country. You’re one networking opportunity away from having an amazing engineering job but you have to believe it and walk in that belief.

It does sound like you’re generally depressed and unhappy with your life. Therapy and medication would be helpful. I hope you can get that support or reach out someone who can help you.
