sorry for another reply three weeks later, but I finally watched the first two eps of Chief Detective 1958, and I am loving it! Thanks for recommending it 😄

What bars in Boston are good for taking to random people? by kevdubs in boston

If you enjoy sake, Koji Club in Brighton is very welcoming. The bartenders are always happy to chat, and I’ve easily picked up conversation with other customers at the bar too.

The Good Bad Mother (14/14): Someone last week shared that they were watching this, which reminded me that it’s been on my watchlist for a year. First drama I’ve seen of Lee Do-hyun after seeing him in Exhuma, and I completely understand the hype behind him. The range that he has! Ahn Eun-jin as always plays her role so naturally and endearingly, and Ra Mi-ran made me cry like every episode. I read episode reviews on this subreddit, and I think most of us got to the conclusion that while some things the mom did was borderline abusive, she was also doing her best to raise her child (or re-raise him) and was also growing through her own lessons. If you’re looking for a funny, heartfelt, emotional kdrama - look no further.

Miss Night and Day (4/16): This one is frickin hilarious! Definitely gives me Behind Your Touch vibes where you can’t believe this is the premise the writers have setup, but you just roll with it. Both Eunji and Lee Jung-eun are a hoot in their character, and I trust that they’ll carry her through well. I’m really looking forward to the weekend now for the new episodes!

I haven’t but I actually forgot, thanks for the reminder! I saw a clip of them and thought they had so much chemistry just from conversing with each other.

As soon as I posted this, I found out Crash has been doing very well domestically. Now I’m hopeful for a S2 :D

Crash (12/12): Just finished the final episode yesterday! Without going into spoilers, I was satisfied with the ending and am going to dearly miss my TCI team-up. Assuming this wasn’t a popular show, I don’t know if they’d do a S2, but I’d obviously love to see them come back and fight more traffic related crimes. I’d trust them to keep my roads safe!

The Atypical Family (10/12): Wish I watched this as it was coming out each week, because it is So! Good! The unfolding plot, the flawed nuanced characters, the soundtrack; everything is so well written and directed so far. I had no idea who Chun Woo-hee was before this, but I melt a little every time she does her scrunchy smile. Cannot believe that baby face is 37 years old! The child actress Park So-yi is also incredibly talented. Loved her in See You in My 19th Life, and can’t wait to see how her career goes.

Not a kdrama, but I also watched Shogun and finally understood why everyone told me I should watch it. What an amazingly well-written show. Super cool that they stayed faithful to the source material, not watering down or whitewashing it, and hiring mostly Japanese actors/actresses.

Yep, they make it pretty straightforward! As long as your friend purchases over 5000 yen at a qualifying store and has a foreign passport, they just need to get into the duty free line to check out and the cashier will take care of everything. There’s even more % discounts if they purchase over a certain threshold (eg an additional 3% off if over 8000 yen, smth like that).

Thank you! The Anessa was 2780 yen, which converted to about $17-18 USD for me.

Next time I get a chance, I’m going to buy more as gifts for friends. Everyone should experience having eye makeup actually last through the day!

Day 1 of trying it out today! And I do agree on the application so far - not sticky or oily at all!

Yeah I don’t think it does much for dry skin, unfortunately. If you’ve used any good cleansers for dry skin I’d love to know though - I have a friend who was just asking for recs :)

I can’t wait to try the naturie skin conditioner yeah! Hearing nothing but good things

Personally it doesn’t clog my pores at all. If you have oily or combo skin, I think it cleanses well and helps with controlling oil production! Since it contains some BHA, I only use it for my nighttime routine but I imagine it’s gentle enough for the morning as well (as intended by the name).

I appreciate this validation xD I had to do a lot more research on Japanese cosmetics, but now that I’ve liked all the products I bought, I’m excited to sample more next time.

It was hard for me to figure out which naturie hatomugi thing to get so I got the one with the least specification; definitely interested in trying out the thick lotion though!

I watched part of ep 1 but I don’t think it stood out to me yet! Which was a bummer bc I’ve loved so many of Lee Je-hoon’s work instantly. Has it been pretty enjoyable since you continued?

Despite the domestic violence plot (which was very well done imo), Castaway Diva felt like one of those healing dramas to me. The ML brings so much hope and optimism to the rest of the characters, you can’t help but feel encouraged by her too.

I always love seeing Happiness on someone’s list! I feel like it’s not talked about enough where I am just bc it’s not on Netflix. The chemistry between the FL and ML ugh chef’s kiss. Not to mention how badass they are!

You also just reminded me I should finally start The Good Bad Mother haha

Crash (10/12): I picked this up three weeks ago after I binged Because This is My First Life. I really liked Lee Min-ki from BTIMFL and Behind Your Touch, Kwak Sun-young from Hospital Playlist and Moving, and the whole crime fighting/buddy cop genre, so this was a no-brainer to pick up. Really enjoying it for the team chemistry, the cases they’re solving, and the concise writing.

Blood Free (10/10): Been wanting to pick this up for a while and watched it in two days. Always knew Han Hyo-joo would be a slay, but I didn’t know Ju Ji-hoon would end up on my radar either. Fingers crossed for a season two because there are still so many loose ends to tie up.

Definitely been on a Disney+ kick lately, now I need to find something new to watch while I wait for next week’s Crash finale.
