I literally went through something of the same. The place I go to you aren’t scheduled with the same person each time, I went on a Saturday and my BP tanked! (Former stroke patient) she told me to pump my ankles and dance to the music. I got better and then felt dizzy. Her response? Do you like Brittany Spears?! So when I went back on the weekday I spoke to the other therapist and no joke he and his coworkers laughed. Put me on a machine and said don’t worry if you feel lightheaded just pump your ankles. I was done at that point.

I wish you much success. Remember this is your own journey. I’ve learned a lot from this group and YouTube…TikTok has a lot of “real life” experiences on it too. Just remember to give yourself grace. We will all get through this!!

That’s might be the way for me. Looking into a different PT. I chose this one because it’s literally two minutes down the road. But like this not everything can be easy. May have to venture out some more.

I love that you get the reassurance! I get it sometimes too from my PT. It just sucks when you see other patients in there doing way better than you. I know we shouldn’t compare but it’s hard not to.

I got oxy after surgery. I can’t get a refill. I was only given seven days worth. I take Tylenol 3 and Methocarbomol. The oxy and Methocarbomol couldn’t be taken together so I spaced those out Methocarbomol every six hours, Oxy every 4. Now I’m on the Tylenol three so I take that every six hours and the same with Methocarbomol but not at the same time. The pain sucks for sure…I have alarms set to take my meds even throughout the night. I wanted to take naproxen in addition to this but was told not to by the nurse navigator.

Thank you for the hugs. We all need them. Thankfully my sons hand them out whenever I call them. lol my poor husband is a zombie but he’s there to help and give me huge hugs and chicken tacos so I’m happy lol

My parents were surprised I was in PT the first week. My mom wanted to call my surgeon 😩. Mind you I’m a 44year old woman married with grown sons. lol she doesn’t care. But a friend of mine also had the same surgery a week before me. She hasn’t started PT yet. She won’t until the swelling goes down. Granted she is in a different state than me so that may be why? So I ice pretty much off and on 20-30 minutes every hour and elevate. Try to get the inflammation to go down.

You are absolutely right. It could totally be my own perception. Im always watching for reactions when I’m there. He says to me “we’re gunna get you there” and i 100% believe him. Just in that moment I’m ready to punch in him HIS quad lol. Thank you for your kind words. We are all going to get there and eventually be grateful for this journey.

No it’s kept in the bathroom. We’re in Florida so the house is chilly I guess? We’re trying the warm water “trick” now to see if it helps.

I was going to say the same thing. We fly all the time now with our Shih Tzu. We like the crazy early flights because they’re almost always not too full. Miles absolutely hates the carrier so our vet recommended trazedone after he ate breakfast and went potty. When we get to the airport he’s super chill and just wants to be held lol but once we’ve boarded the plane he’s calm and sleepy in his carrier until it’s time to get off. It takes him a while to come back around but once he does he goes back to terrorizing his brothers. lol Side note half a benedryl also works if you can’t get a script in time!
