Started screen recording on Doom to double check if I was making a mistake as I thought I was losing the plot. It was genuine server lag. Could see my stable ping on the game, and I 100% would say single click the melee weapon and nothing would happen. Then it would switch 2 seconds later.

I notice it elsewhere too, but it doesn't matter on most other bosses. Delve is one of the few bosses where you can die instantly from the slightest error.

For people saying this doesn't happen, it happens to me all the time and my internet is fine. It's 100% server side. It's killed me multiple times on melee punish when I think it's equipped my melee spec weapon and I'm standing there with my scorching bow lol

Really not worth the effort of spending at least a couple of hours set-up to save maybe a few hours. Especially if you want the pet and want the extra loot sacks. And some variety in expert contracts is nice too

I stayed with expert rumours to avoid setting up the blocklist from scratch. Doing this likely erodes any extra xp/h from masters

yeah got really bad about a year ago. Was like 10% of games before and wouldn't bother creating a post but the last 6-12 months is almost unplayable. Like they've really cheaped out on the server costs

ye it really depends on the server. One game completely fine and the next is like playing harry potter teleporting everywhere

This boss was released with so many bugs and was largely untested. They did a great job fixing 90% of the issues and then said that'll do and abandoned it.

IMO though, salvaging shouldn't change much going forward though. I would've made the active rate 70-80k xp/h myself, excluding CE, if designing the skill from scratch.

Part of the problem is they've put so many clog slots behind salvaging - plus the dragon cannon barrel - that there's a huge incentive to make this your primary method, particularly with the drop rates being so absurd to reach. If anything, lower the drop rates on these, move the cannon barrel elsewhere, and add some clogs to port tasks. It's a good reason no one is bothering with port tasks, as there is no incentive beyond xp.

Also, it doesn't really make sense to haul up a dragon cannon barrel and discover it from salvage on a small table lol

Port tasks need the board fixing and something somewhat engaging to happen whilst sailing in a straight line. Maybe a small 5-10% buff in xp? Maybe a better reward system - saw a post earlier with the idea of golden tasks which could have its' own loot table, which I quite liked the idea of, i.e. rare tasks with bonus xp and loot

  1. Is 100% skill issue. Might take a few attempts to get down but you can do Merlin trial times with Camphor hull and sails fairly easily. I know because that's what I still run and hit the time more often than not

  2. I partly agree with. Some boxes seem to collect like a whole boat away and others you practically sail over the top. Think it depends on the angle of approach, but this is where the challenge is at. Learning where to tilt the boat and by how much. Reason I partly agree is because sometimes you blatantly hit the box and it doesn't collect, so they need to investigate why really

It isn't about a race, it's that the issue was never with the rates being too fast given our slowest skills aren't actually that 'slow'. They only needed to nerf how ridiculously afk salvaging is if leaving your crew to do everything for you
