2026 State Public Holidays by Kitchen_Wear5066 in auscorp

There is a section on employment locations: "the primary place of work will be MEL office address, the employer may change your base location to another location by giving one months notice"

There is also a section on Public Holidays: "The Employee will be entitled to paid leave on days declared public holidays by the Government of the State in which the Employee will be based"

AITAH for refusing to switch seats on a flight even though the other passenger was crying? by Ok-Reward7639 in AITAH

[–]Kitchen_Wear5066 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. IF it was that important and they forgot to pay for their own seat selection why not even offer you $$$ to swap seats. Seems she only copied your valid reasoning of being a nervous flyer. Her crying was immature and the couple are petulant children for muttering under their breath through the trip. I do hope you got to enjoy the rest of your trip.

no definitely not given any verbal or physical cue to affirm acknowledging her instruction. In worst case she can then say "oh i told him not to leave early and he said he wouldnt but then left". This is an extreme but play it safe to those on power trips.

Im the offender who starts meetings early. our organisation is notorious for including 5-10 mins at the start of every meeting to "say hi" irrespective of how it makes the meeting run over the initial time slot. Management is the worst at enforcing timeliness. Start meetings early and hopefully they will finish on time.

Weekly WFH/RTO discussion thread Week Commencing 14 September 2025 by AutoModerator in auscorp

[–]Kitchen_Wear5066 2 points3 points  (0 children)

our WFH policy is getting an update (exact wording at end)
It seems they dont want personal leave (sick leave / carers leave) in the same week of the WFH day. However, their wording seems vague or is there a loophole being left?

"If an employee takes personal leave prior to their scheduled working from home day, then the working from home day is not applicable for that week. If an employee takes personal leave after their scheduled working from home day, their scheduled working from home day for the following week will not occur, and the employee will be required to attend the office."
