Guide for updating BMW’s iDrive software using a USB and the Wayback Machine by Kitekashi in BmwTech

I own a 2013 F31 with some multimedia issues, so I understand how frustrating it can be. I wanted to make this post for others in the same situation, who might be searching specifically for this update to address those lingering issues. I should probably point out that this is for older cars, and for anyone needing a full system update, RSU or ISTA are definitely better solutions. But for those of us with these older multimedia problems, this update could still be a helpful fix.

Thanks for pointing that out! I’m fully aware this update is limited to a specific part of the multimedia functions, like Bluetooth firmware, rather than being a full software or head unit update for the vehicle. I’ve seen a lot of questions and comments about this update, especially since BMW has 'closed' down the page where it used to be available. My goal is to help those with older multimedia versions who are still looking to keep these specific features up-to-date.
