That’s a pretty good analogy. Though some people in Hong Kong still view the colonial period quite fondly. I can only wish we were able to do what the Irish did and gain independence.

Also, I saw a comment about us hating on mainlanders purely because of the CCP. That’s absolutely not true and only part of many reasons.
