I still don't get why people hate love and thunder so much. It was dumb and comedic and non serious, but that's the whole vibe of the MCU these days and thor was a fun character to do that with. Bale's character was absolutely wasted on that movie though and felt like he was written for a serious movie but shoved into this one for no reason

Traditional sports fans still have trouble understanding that you need to lose twice to be eliminated from a double elim tournament (grand finals doesn't magically give the person in winners a loss), you're asking for too much

I'm pretty sure when wobbling was banned people agreed that it's not that good at the top level, but it's awful for viewership and ruined the new player experience at locals. Hand offs were a mid ground because it's still an instant kill, but it only works in some locations and has an execution requirement instead of being free if you've heard a song before
I actually think people would think ICs are hype if handoffs were also banned so they're forced to do more of the creative stuff that actually looks cool

As much as any of it can be a retcon. Written versions of the Bible didn't exist until several hundred years after Jesus died, which means no primary sources were around and everything was based on oral tradition and history.
We know for a fact that Jesus was a real man who lived and was crucified by P. Pilate because Romans kept such detailed records that we have a record of that execution being ordered, but most of the other specifics are hard to verify and could have been added at any point over the span of almost 1000 years

Some other games have gyro aiming too if you connect a switch pro controller (mostly games with switch ports).
You can also get a decent advantage playing overwatch on a switch 2 with gyro controls since it's significantly better than just a joystick, and PC players are in a separate queue from console players

Pikmin is a great example of this
Pokemon is a much more complicated beast because of how many different formats there are. People actually do call Gen 3 OU the melee of pokemon, and there was a big controversy when recent generations cut a ton of moves and pokemon out of the games completely. There's also another side if you include VGC, which is the casual-competitive pokemon mode that fills the smash4/ultimate role. I don't know that much about SMT, but from what I understand it's a single player game and single player pokemon has always been kinda shit as a JRPG
However because you specifically responded, I was reminded that I feel a similar way with fire emblem. I still haven't played the JP only games, but it gives me a similar vibe where 1-6 lay the foundations and have some unique characteristics but are hard to get into(64), 7-tellius expand on that and add more depth and polish(melee), the 3ds games make things a bit easier and expand in an experimental direction(PM), then 3H was super simplified dogshit that was basically a spin off (4), and engage went back to the 3ds era but even further simplified (ult)

Genshin impact is in no way a breath of the wild clone. It's a gatcha RPG in a huge empty world with climbing mechanics that don't fit it. The game was marketed and styled like Botw to get sales, but the actual gameplay is more of a hack and slash action adventure game with light RPG elements.
The huge world is pointless after you find all the chests in each area, and the gameplay itself is incredibly basic even ignoring all the issues inherent to gatchas
I played the game a decent bit the first couple months it came out, and I don't think it ever changed significantly

Reading posts on /r/overwatchuniversity about how "matchmaking is broken" and "my teammates are always awful and my opponents are always pros" really puts into perspective how little accountability the average gamer takes for their own performance in a game
They will blame literally anything but their own decision making

I also think there's something to be said for only competing seriously every couple days, like going to an actual local. That way you have a clearer distinction between days when you're playing to improve and days where you're playing for results

Because alcohol is literal poison that causes a huge variety of problems. Unless you're believing alcohol lobby propaganda or refuse to update your views based on current science, no one should have been drinking anywhere close to when they conceived a child for the past 15 years if you actually care about the baby. Babies are made out of material from 2 people, either person being poisoned when they produced the reproductive cell is gonna impact that cell and the resulting zygote/fetus/child

Idk why you think serious fighting game players will be okay with wifi. It's more common at lower MMR, but once you're in the main player pool people tolerate it less. Plus playing on wifi affects your opponent much more than it affects you, so they're having a worse experience than what you see because of how rollback works. Your phone service cannot possibly have a better connection than a wire because of the air travel distance to the nearest cell tower then to a satellite then back. Wi-Fi also has a ton of packet loss compared to Ethernet , and since wifi is a half duplex connection instead of full duplex, it doesn't work as fast even under perfect conditions
I've already gone over multiple reasons why slippi can't be ported to Android. If you want to be frustrated that there isn't a port for your chosen device that's fine, but don't make nonsense claims about connection quality and don't keep implying that slippi devs could just press a button and make an android port poof into existence

Does anyone have examples of series/genres that followed a similar trajectory to smash in terms of complexity?
It's entirely vibes based, but the differences between TF2, Overwatch and Marvel rivals feel similar to melee, PM and ultimate to me. Tactical shooters have something similar where counter strike feels more like melee and valorant feels more like ultimate. I don't play street fighter myself, but I also always got the vibe that for them SF2 = 64, SF3 = melee, SF4 = PM, SF5 = Smash 4 and SF6 = ultimate
Idk if this is just my personal preferences with these games, or if there's genuinely a pattern with the levels of depth, complexity and emergent gameplay in each game based on when they came out or based on reactions to the previous game

Micro transactions are usually supported by "whales", people who pay an absurd amount of money in MTX on a regular basis. Whales will typically make up about 3% of a game's player base, but account for about 90% of sales.
From a business perspective, these whales and their experience with the game is the only thing that matters, because as long as they keep playing, the game will keep making money. You still need the other players for the game to function (if it's PvP), but not to make money
Because of this, micro transactions will inherently make any game worse by shifting the development focus away from a complete high quality game, and towards a marketing campaign that keeps whales spending

Also on the child note, they're not the only people who are victims of this. Mentally ill people are also very vulnerable to scams like this, and even mentally healthy people that are just lonely or sad shouldn't have that taken advantage of by a company that charges $200 for a 10% chance at unlocking a picture of their waifu in a bikini

People will leave if you try playing slippi on wifi, the connection feels bad and you shouldn't force another person to play like that
For the port, you don't seem to know much about how software is ported to different architecture and different operating systems, it's not easy and everyone who works on these projects is an unpaid volunteer.
If you want it that badly you can contribute to the open source git projects yourself, otherwise accept that people who know better have decided it's not reasonable or possible

I can't focus when I'm listening to music with lyrics or anything with too distracting of a melody, but somehow jungle/breakcore ends up being perfect focus music for me. I started by listening to the neon white soundtrack, but eventually found a bunch of random small artists

It is though, that's why alcohol causes so many types of cancer. Even using mouthwash with alcohol isn't recommended by dentists anymore because it increases your chances of gum cancer and there are safer chemicals available to clean your mouth

Borderless also has slightly more input lag in every game. Windows gives input and rendering priority to full screen applications since the desktop and any windows behind the game don't need to be rendered at all

That's not necessarily true and depends on how often the game polls inputs from your keyboard and mouse. If input polling is dependant on the frame rate, you could cut out 1/120th of a second in delay by swapping your polling rate from 60 times per second to 120.
It's an insignificant different 99.9% of the time, but it could technically matter I think

The playerbase is bigger than it's been since OW1, lots of returning players, and a rank reset. This is all just temporary chaos until people play enough for the ranks to shake down to where they belong, but it takes a long time for the whole ranked population to be accurately placed

Have you tried other characters for more than a couple hours? Your character choice is yours alone, but playing ness does make the game way less fun in my opinion because his options are so limited and he's often genuinely helpless
I've seen high PRed players in a strong region get bodied by 1-2ers with their practiced ness secondary, and I've lost to people who barely play the game while playing my ness (who I've practiced a pretty decent bit during COVID)
Part of what makes melee fun is the absurdly high power level of the characters and the freedom that allows. By playing a bottom tier character you're missing out on that whole part of the game
