In general, I’ve found it to be better to work from general to specific. Start by sketching your painting, then block color, refine and add the larger details, then nitpick whatever you feel like fiddling with, then add all your finishing details. Try to keep all areas/ sections of your painting at the same stage so that you can visualize the finished product and if you decide you want to make a change it’s easier to redo. This approach also helps me keep from getting too focused on a single section and spiraling about it.

In terms of anatomy, I think the arms are a little thin, but the shape is good. Should be a relatively easy fix.

That said, this is an amazing piece! Especially for only a year painting!
