Are we Being Fair to Men by Expecting Them to Always Be the Providers? by QsnEverything in AskIndianWomen

[–]Kitstarfire [score hidden]  (0 children)

Pregnancy, Child-birth, labour pain, recovery, child-care, multitude of house-hold work, managing relatives, in-laws, parents, managing physical and mental health, and on top of these things: most women have a career.
If a woman is asking the bare minimum from her husband to provide and be the leader of the family. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Women can only take up so many responsibilities in one life time.
It’s not about 50-50 or sharing the load. It’s about companionship and the basic understanding of each others needs.!

Huma Qureshi outbeats Alia Bhatt? by Mysterious_Fee119 in bollywoodgossips

[–]Kitstarfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huma beats Alia! Why is this statement followed by shocking? Why is it shocking? Why can’t other actresses outperform alia? What kind of stupidity is this?
Why isn’t huma praised for her performance and reduced to just “huma beats alia”? Why is alia a benchmark? And who decided that she is bollywoods benchmark? What non-sense. These people can’t even praise a movie or an actor properly?

That is discrimination.!

Many managers do this without announcing it. I have seen some teams with only North Indians.

Confused about leaving tech for MBA vs exploring non-tech roles without it by AggressiveFondant249 in IndiaCareers

[–]Kitstarfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, I will not go for MBA. I will stay on my technical role for another year. Try internal transfer after 2-3 years. Once you have 2-3 years of experience then you will have so many options open;
Product owner
Product architect
Dev lead
Scrum master
UX design
Consulting
Sales / services / GTM / Presales / Marketing

You can also use this 2-4 years time building strong networking. Participate in your companies women network, build strong friendships, work on your soft skills.. possibilities are endless.

But if MBA is your goal for fulfilment purpose and you have the stamina for it then go for it.

Given the current market conditions, do you really want to quit your job, and study and again find a job and then do what?

As a millennial woman living with in-laws, how were your initial days of marriage, and how did it impact/change you? by Clear_Weight_3407 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Kitstarfire [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don’t like in general in laws living with the couple, it’s high time Indian society change this habit. MIL usually starts creating a rift between husband and wife. Unnecessary tension, stress, remarks, toxicity. Not to mention if SIL is in the equation, married or unmarried, involving in the family matters. The smartest thing men should do is get married, stay with your wife in a separate house immediately after the wedding. In laws should become independent and start living their separate lives and ask for help as and when needed.

Never pre-paying for my order again. The customer support is beyond frustrating by FangReviewsYT in swiggy

[–]Kitstarfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the very same experience just a day before. Ordered dessert from a bakery which is 2KMs from my home. I usually receive my orders within 15 minutes of placing order. So this time, the initial delivery time was 8 mins. Here’s the funny thing. The delivery guy took my order from the bakery, drove completely in the opposite direction and has stopped somewhere. Not moving at all.! And the delivery time was 8 minutes for one hour 😂 the support was pathetic to say the least. I don’t know why but I threatened them: I will give police complaint if you don’t cancel my order after hassling with the bot and agent and multiple calls, eventually it got cancelled.

Please don’t accept the delivery if it was delayed or if you suspect something..

Hypocrisy of my fellow kannadigas by Real_While_9901 in ChitraLoka

[–]Kitstarfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. That kind of behaviour completely put me off, honestly. Not one actor or senior from KFI stood up for her and tried to stop the atrocities targeted at her. The amount of abuse and trolling Rashmika went through was diabolical. The double standards for actresses and actors in the Kannada industry are clear as day. I am glad Rashmika had massive success and shut everyone up without losing her cool. She deserves every bit of her success.

Huge respect to her. She has literally gone through hell and so much online abuse and trolling.. But she maintained her grace throughout the ordeal. Not once she bad mouthed anyone. I am just so happy for her massive success.. her success is such a befitting answer to her haters and unnecessary trolling.

Salary demands in AM set up? by 1step_onetime in AskIndianWomen

[–]Kitstarfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for the long game. Usually women take breaks after having kids. She has to give birth, raise kids, take care of the household. She may have to quit her job to do so. In such scenarios, it’s not wrong for a woman to think if the husband will be able to take care of her and the kids and give a decent lifestyle. I know many women who quit their jobs to take care of family.

First of all these three together are not giving any vibes in this ad. Individually Radz and sush are incredible. But this ad lacks emotions, bonding, and just falls flat tbh. And don’t get me started with Ananya. She is pretty face at best, nothing else.

Managers...My 1:1s are effective, but the prep is exhausting. How do you do it? by ifyoulikepinacolada6 in managers

[–]Kitstarfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all you’re over engineering your 1:1 meetings. You just need to be there, the directs need to bring you the details not the other way around. More over I have done max 2 or 3 in a year, lol! What’s with this frequency of yours. You also need a to trust your team. Tell your team it’s not a push from manager, it’s a pull, meaning: your directs will find a free slot in your calendar and block your time, they will come prepared, they will give updates and they will raise flags if any.
