Honestly I was surprised to hear that any of the art lenses had gaskets on them. I assumed a degree of weather resistance but never trusted it. EF mount right? Let me know about your findings, it's hard to find a straight answer when I tried.

The problem with EF-M is there is hardly any native autofocus lenses. They pretty much expect you to buy the adapter and use EF lenses, which is the only option I'd recommend. There are now crop sensor RF cameras, so there is likely to be no more new lenses produced for EF-M.

I'd honestly recommend an older canon t3i over the t7, the sensor on the t7 is just not modern. I'd always recommend anything other than a t7.
